3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours amber with small white head. Aroma is very mild, almost malty sweet and bready, no real hops. Taste is much of the same, mild, sweet, little it of hop bitterness. Just finished a pale ale with more hop flavor. Good, but not really an IPA IMO.
Pours a clear, dark golden orange color with apricot colored edges and a half finger white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Some spotty lacing left behind.
Floral, grassy hop aroma with earthy pine needle and dank buds countered by a slightly sweet malt backbone. Very fresh and fragrant with subtle citrus fruit sweetness countering the earthier hop notes. Stronger malt presence than expected but doesn’t interfere with the hop profile with hints of caramel, bread and cracker.
Medium body with a blast of sticky hop bitterness that lingers over the sweet malt backbone into a dry finish. Prominent resinous pine bitterness with slightly spicy, grassy hop flavor but it’s lacking the tropical/citrus sweetness found in the aroma. Good hop flavor but slightly one dimensional. The malt backbone is much stronger than I prefer with strong caramel malt sweetness along with hints of toffee, toasted bread, dark fruit and biscuit. Subtle boozy heat in the finish. Where the hell are hops? Entirety too malt heavy. Thin body, underwhelming hop presence, not good. BeerandBlues2 (13323) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 24, 2013

11/22/13 $8.99 bomber at CBO. Took almost 2 weeks before the beer was finally listed on any site.
After holding on and waiting to finally rate it, I have nothing much to say.
Dark orange color with medium head. Distinct hoppy smell. Distinct hoppy taste.

22 oz. bottle. Bottled: 10/30/13. A clear copper pour with a thick & creamy antique white head. Oranges, zesty citrus rinds, mild grapefruit, light caramel, toffee, spice, and a biscuity maltiness dominate the aroma. Relatively medium-bodied on the way down. The taste upfront is predominantly chewy caramel maltiness. Buttery toffee. Kinda spicy. Some bitter citrus rinds at the tail-end. Dry. Not exactly unenjoyable, but not too good either.
