UPDATED: JAN 8, 2007 Draft at Arundel Mills location. Pours deep brown with an nice beige head. Aroma dark roasted malts and dry coffee grounds. Medium mouthfeel. Not too thin, not too thick, just right. Nicely balanced flavor of chocolate, burnt malts, and coffee. Just enough bitter hops on the finish to balance out the sweetness. Very nice robust porter. So good, I wish I would have had more time to grab another before my flight.

roasty and woody with pine hop and some chocolate with a bit of earth. how can you screw that up? they didnt. refreshing foamy zing in the body and a moderate finish morphing cocoa, porter and hops.

Dark brown/black aroma. Chocolate notes finish the body but woody hops actually dominate the palate.

12 oz bottle. Lots of good chewy awesomeness. Some hints of tar and molasses. Worth every penny.

Tap. Pours deep reddish black, medium tan creamy head, dissipates slowly, solid lacing. Aroma is roasty with plenty of ashtray and burned malts. Flavor is heavy roast, hints of smoke, burned malts, light plus sweet and light plus bitter, some acidity from the roast. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel. A bit too burned perhaps, but otherwise solid.

Thanks Dana for the bottle. This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing roaming all around the glass. The smell had a roasty robust black coffee with a sharp bitter hoppiness (slight earthy pine). The taste was mainly sharp roasty robust toasty and dark coffee, light chocolate does enter in a bit at the end. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but nothing overbearing. It carried a nice sharp bitter roasty coffee rolling over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good porter that I would have again.

Had at Moons. Nice notes of burnt malt, roast and chocolate, but rich chocolate. Body was thin, but it was interesting. I enjoyed it.

On tap 5 oz. sample at DuClaw in Bowie, MD. Opaque, near black with a creamy yellow-tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and walnut. Taste of chocolate, roasted coffee, roasted malt, earthy hops, mint, a touch of smokiness and mild nuttiness. Medium body and low/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
