Interesting in that it had a nice hop finish. Easy drinking, carbonation low. Light roasted flavors, a bit on the watery side though. decaturstevo (6341) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Deep dark brown with hints of red. Toasted malt aroma. Peat, toasted malt, with a pleasant bitter finish. Carbonation is good but it was a bit thin. A very good beer. joeymacaroni (309) - Wagontown, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2008

Draft at Arundel Mills. Pours deep coffee brown with a light beige head, spotty lacing.Lighter side of medium bodied with a lively but ultra fine carbonation. Lagery aroma with a hint of of roast. Flavor of cocoa powder, nuts, and dark roast. There is a slight bitterness that lingers, and the mild astringency fades as it warms NomDeBeer (414) - Maryland, USA - AUG 4, 2008
Draft @Bel Air location in May 2008. Kind of plain and boring. Thin/watery mouthfeel. Minimal chocolate flavor and malt sweetness, no hops to speak of. Not the best effort from DuClaw, but then I’ve never had a really impressive schwarzbier. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 28, 2008
(growler, thanks wickedpete) Clear dark brown body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, roast, some caramel. Taste is medium sweet, roast, cocoa, light caramel, smoke. Medium body, smooth, easy drinking. dpjuart (1112) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2008
7/16/08 - Draft sample at Bowie location. Black/brown with red hues and a rimming, eggshell head. Nose is sweet caramel and chocolate. Taste is much the same with good mouth feel. Best offering the location had. mwelsh13 (499) - Maryland, USA - JUL 18, 2008
Draft pint at Arundal Mills location. Deep brown. Very thin. No aroma and carbonation. A little sour. Like the bartender said, " A dark beer to make you look cool if you do not REALLY like dark beer." Tasted like Bad Moon Porter light.
