Draft at DuClaw Arundel Mills. Pours dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like dry roasted malt, earthy, woody, burnt toast. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells earthy, woody, like burnt roasted malt. JDBaker11058 (2348) - Maryland, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Appearance: near coffee black, with a short, dark tan head quickly fizzing away (may have been a half-assed pour from the bar). Aroma: smells of chocolate and roast coffee beans. Taste: tastes the same, with an added component of dust and a hint of licorice. Finish: dry, smooth, and lightly bitter, with a general lingering roasty note. Notes: Perfectly acceptable dry/irish stout. Very drinkable, and a perfect substitute for after dinner coffee.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with average, creamy tan head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, milk chocolate, light earthy hops, cocoa, plums, raisins, and light ash. Flavor is dry, roast malts, light vanilla, some dark fruit, and then dominated by heavy cigarette ash; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

On tap at the Arundel Mills location in the mall. Poured an opaque black color with a thin khaki top. Taste of dark chocolate, coffee, bready, and roasted malt. Medium carb, medium body. Dry indeed hypn0toad (267) - Maryland, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Reminds me of an alcoholic iced coffee. That’s great because I love coffee especially when its just black. There isn’t sweetness to this beer because cream and sugar are for people of ill repute. craig220 (313) - Crofton, Maryland, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Aroma is toasty and coffee. Jet black in color with a nice tan head that hangs out for a while. Taste is same as smell. The only thing hurting this beer is the extremely watery texture. gizmo_ber (190) - Steinwenden, GERMANY - MAY 2, 2012
Got this on tap today. Very smooth and mild flavor. Went down well, but not a whole lot as far as flavor goes. Good, not great. BrotherJason (48) - Washington DC, USA - APR 17, 2012
UPDATED: APR 18, 2012 Pint on tap poured with no head :( nice near-black with a flash if red tint. Appears a little thin for a stout. Smells of burnt coffee and chocolate. Palate feel is pretty underwhelming... thin and dry. Taste is of dark malt and cocoa. Finish is a bit hoppy for a stout, dry and a bit burnt.
