ChrisOs Kook Tasting. Slightly hazy dark amber beer. Light nose of sweet malt. Low carbonation. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Sweet malt and fruits. Subtle spicy cherry and strawberry. Dried fruits and subtle raisin. Mild caramel and then inevitable aniseed alcohol that is also quite sweet. Finishes a little warming but nothing like 22%!!. Sweet, strong and of surprisingly subtle flavours. Very dangerously drinkable!
Hefiger, sehr süßer Beginn, der dann zuckriger wird. Zu süß. Zuvor wenig alkoholisch, die Süße wird drückend. Kaum trinkbar. /11/8/7/6/7

Bottle thanks to Rich at Jimmack’s tasting. Pours clear amber. Nose and taste of cane sugar, sweet molasses, oak, booze and caramel malts. brokensail (16696) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 12, 2014
Bottle @ Presidential Suite. Thanks, Peter. Flat mahogany pour with no head. Smells of booze, cherry cough syrup, and caramel. Lots of grape juice and kind of a mulled cider character. Flavor is significantly better and lacks a lot of the cough syrup that was on the nose. Sort of a grape juice and caramel sweetness. A bit of grape juice and sweet cider. Maybe some honey and a lot of black cherry. The destitute man’s Millennium, I guess. djd07 (16452) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 5, 2012
Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Pours a cloudy amber with small off white head. The aroma is a fruity malt and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a vanilla oak flavor and sweet finish. Alcohol present but not overpowering. A good American strong ale from DuClaw. bhensonb (16124) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 29, 2009
This one courtesy of ericandersnavy. Thanks man! Pours clear reddish copper with a slight beige head. The nose is big on malt and fruit. Sort of red berry. No heat issue. Full bodied with mildly frothy carbonation. Flavors are like plum, berry, honey, spice, malt, and I bet I could imagine more. It’s fairly complex. Heat is barely detectable. Rather like a not so sweet mead.
