COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Devil’s Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devil’s Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing “after-dinner” drink or nitecap.

Amber body, off-white head. Mild grape and alcohol aroma. A little heavy on the sweetness side. Enjoyable.

On tap at Bowie location. Pours clear dark amber with small tan head. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel, some dark fruits, and hops. Flavor is dominated by sweet malts with some caramel, dark fruits, and hop bitterness mixed in. Finishes sweet and boozy.

reddish brown pour from bottle. this beer is pure caramelized sugar, resinous hops, and brown sugar. raisin in the finish. feels like a cross between and old ipa and a barley wine. mediocre but good

BelgianBeerGal (4136) - Panama City, Florida, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Bottle shared in Texas by ericandersnavy. Definitely an American style because of the more pronounced hop notes but also some brown sugar, strong malts and rum to balance things out.

I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. I’ve had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh. Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment.

savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - NOV 19, 2010
22 oz bottle from tarheals. Clear amber with a big sticky beige head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cinnamon, pine and alcohol. The flavor is sweet and malty with a light hop bitterness. Medium to full body with very mild carbonation and a thick, syrupy mouth feel. I think this beer would be a bit better with more carbonation, it almost makes the beer seam watery and makes the sweetness almost cloying.

Nickls (2576) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - FEB 10, 2011
Bottle. Clearish dark copper with a slightly off-white head. NIce grapefruity hops in the aroma that are nowhere near dominant but come through clear, caramel, and toffee. This leans a bit sweet and makes it seem a bit more traditional rather than US driven for the style, dark fruits, earthy hop in the middle, with lots of caramel but doesn’t suggest that it’s not fresh...just really, really balanced. Toffee-finish. Medium to thicker body that’s a little viscous with bubbly carbonation, and a little silky.

Bottle 650ml @ fonefan
Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of barley, caramel, dried fruits and a little alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Luvystypotables (2039) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - DEC 8, 2013
Amber colored without much head, aroma of fruity, grain and hops. Balanced taste of hops, citrus and bread. Slightly bitter palate of citrus rind.

Turboninja (819) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 2, 2016
[email protected], from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Medium/strong distinctive slightly artificial aroma with raisin, caramel and alcohol. Dark copper color with small light beige head and semi-hazy liquid. Strong complex taste with sweet raisin, plum, cherry and alcohol. Averagely balanced with wide/medium taste spectrum and long sweet hoppy aftertaste of sweet raisin and a hint of sweet malts. Medium/strong body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, distinctive taste but in a bit artificial and messy fashion.
