COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Devils Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devils Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing after-dinner drink or nitecap.

reddish brown pour from bottle. this beer is pure caramelized sugar, resinous hops, and brown sugar. raisin in the finish. feels like a cross between and old ipa and a barley wine. mediocre but good

Bottle shared in Texas by ericandersnavy. Definitely an American style because of the more pronounced hop notes but also some brown sugar, strong malts and rum to balance things out.

I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. Ive had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh. Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment.

Bottle. Clearish dark copper with a slightly off-white head. NIce grapefruity hops in the aroma that are nowhere near dominant but come through clear, caramel, and toffee. This leans a bit sweet and makes it seem a bit more traditional rather than US driven for the style, dark fruits, earthy hop in the middle, with lots of caramel but doesnt suggest that its not fresh...just really, really balanced. Toffee-finish. Medium to thicker body thats a little viscous with bubbly carbonation, and a little silky.

Turboninja (710) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 2, 2016
[email protected], from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Medium/strong distinctive slightly artificial aroma with raisin, caramel and alcohol. Dark copper color with small light beige head and semi-hazy liquid. Strong complex taste with sweet raisin, plum, cherry and alcohol. Averagely balanced with wide/medium taste spectrum and long sweet hoppy aftertaste of sweet raisin and a hint of sweet malts. Medium/strong body with medium/light carbonation. Overall, distinctive taste but in a bit artificial and messy fashion.

$2.45 Bottle from Wine Warehouse. Ive gone against my better judgement and purchased a couple of DuClaw bottles that I hadnt tasted before. Full disclosure: I am not a fan of this brewery overall and I typically steer clear of their beers lately. That being said, lets go ahead and sample this. Pours clear deep amber with a gigantic beige head. Id say I only poured a quarter of the bottle and I cant get any more in. Aroma is quite pleasant: plums, nuts, pine, citrus. Im starting to think this might end up being my highest rates DuClaw brew based on the aroma. Lets see how it tastes.... Very nutty... lots of cashews, walnuts, hell even coconut. Then add some raisin, pine, vanilla, and alcohol. By far, my favorite from this brewery. Note: my bottle says 11.5% abv rather than 10.5%.

Bottle pour. The beer is a clear brown with a white head of foam. The aroma has toffee, caramel, and herbal notes. Fairly sweet taste. Big body and moderate carbonation.
