Devils Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devils Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing after-dinner drink or nitecap.

Clear amber whiskey like pour, thin creamy bubbly off white head and very light sticky lacing. ... Aroma of faded citrusy hops, dark fruits, chewy caramel/toasted malts and boozy .... Mouthfeel is thick, oily and slick ... Taste is bitter and of faded citrusy hops, slightly piney/earthy hops, dark fruits, chewy caramel malts and rich toasted malts ... Quite a bit of warming abv ... Finish is malty with a bitter and warming finish ... Well done def aging a couple of these so the booze flavors can tone down a little

12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours with a clear copper-brown body topped by a thin, mostly short-lived head. Spotty lacing. Aroma: Sweet and boozy, with hints of dark fruits, apples and toffee. Flavor. Similar to the aroma, with soft and dried fruits, faint hops and caramel. Modest complexity. Overall: Smoother and, perhaps, better, than the bourbon barrel aged version (Hell on Wood).

Bottle pour. The beer is a clear brown with a white head of foam. The aroma has toffee, caramel, and herbal notes. Fairly sweet taste. Big body and moderate carbonation.

$2.45 Bottle from Wine Warehouse. Ive gone against my better judgement and purchased a couple of DuClaw bottles that I hadnt tasted before. Full disclosure: I am not a fan of this brewery overall and I typically steer clear of their beers lately. That being said, lets go ahead and sample this. Pours clear deep amber with a gigantic beige head. Id say I only poured a quarter of the bottle and I cant get any more in. Aroma is quite pleasant: plums, nuts, pine, citrus. Im starting to think this might end up being my highest rates DuClaw brew based on the aroma. Lets see how it tastes.... Very nutty... lots of cashews, walnuts, hell even coconut. Then add some raisin, pine, vanilla, and alcohol. By far, my favorite from this brewery. Note: my bottle says 11.5% abv rather than 10.5%.

One of the best barley wines I have had. Great for drinking by the fireplace! You really wouldnt know it is as strong as it is since it actually drinks very easily. Could be trouble if you had too many back to back. I could not find this around at all last year - very sad, missing it : (

Cloudy, dark yellow. A ton of head. The aroma is vanilla, almonds, honey, liquor. The flavor adds some spice and a fizzy mouthfeel. This is good barley wine.

12oz bottle. Another rot box beer. 2014 vintage. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of boozy caramel, plastic, hints of pine, and sweet rotted fruit. Taste of sweet caramel, earthy hops, grassy bitterness, toasted grains, and sweet fruit.
