A delicious and sessionable brown ale. Aroma was nice. Toffee, peanut and burnt caramel. Not too strong, but good. Pour was a nice medium brown with a thin light tan film for a head. Taste was very full and delicious for such a low ABV. They nailed it here. As the commercial description says; caramel, toffee and almond. Big and full. Nice strong carbonation. Will buy this again

On draft at DuClaw in Bowie, MD. The beer is chestnut brown and hazy with a wisp of tan head. The aroma offers toffee, malt, bread, brown sugar. A touch of sweet toffee among brown bread and caramel malt notes. Moderately low carbonation with a touch of bitterness in the back. A decent brew, but not something I feel compelled to have again.

Super nutty aroma with some peanut butter notes. No hops on the nose. Appearance is a cloudy brown beer with an off white head with poor head retention. Flavor is malt forward with nut, caramel and peanut butter notes. No hop flavor in the taste. Esters are low. Mouthfeel is moderate with moderate low carbonation. Overall, the beer from this bottle seems a little flat, but the beer has potential. I'll assume the carbonation issue with this beer isn't typical and is an anomaly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber in color. Scent of chocolate/toffee....not a strong one. Taste is of choc/toffee. Palate shows off the toffee after a few seconds. Leaves a cappuccino kind of palate after awhile. Pretty darn good. I would get it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown color. There’s about a fingers worth of light mocha-shaded head, also. It isn’t the most impressive retaining head, but has a nice texture and nice lacing, as well. S: The first whiffs bring a pleasant chocolate-coated peanut character. After it opens up, some nondescript esters and a touch of acidic twang enter. While nothing about the aroma is wowing, it certainly smells pleasing enough. T: The flavor, actually, is quite forward in sweet caramel and toffee, as opposed to the nutty chocolate suggested on the nose. I don’t even get much nuttiness in fact (maybe a twinge on the swallow). The finish is a touch roasty/acidic, though not overwhelming. All in all, it’s decent, well balanced - and unexciting. M: Medium in body, the slight roasted touch on the back end cleans the palate acceptably. The finish errs on the sweet side, though. It’s drinkable due in large part to its vibrant carbonation. O: Everything about this brew is ’nice’. Nothing more, nothing less. Like most brown ales, it feels safe. Normally safe isn’t good, but considering some of the duds I’ve had from this brewery in the past (oh hai, Serum!), I guess - for once - I’ll say ’better safe than sorry’. This one’s on the pile of beers I’d gladly drink again, as long as I don’t have to buy a 6-pack of it.

Fresh bottle. Pours Orange gold with minimal head. Aroma is caramel, nutty. Taste is earthy and nutty, some caramel and brown sugar tones. One of the better "nut ales" I've had. Solid.

Good body. Carmel color. Good finish. Flavor isn’t as deep as it could be. Slightly bladder New Castle.

Malty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Caramel sweetness in the malty base with a bit of cocoa and earthiness. Long, smooth finish. Nice for the style.

From the bottle. Aroma is toffee, like a Werthers, and a bit of almond. Pours bright brown with a small yellow lace. Taste is sweet toffee and then stale cardboard brown ale. The brew gets sweeter with a fake toffee syrup taste as it warms. It’s palatable but I wouldn’t have more than one.

Caramel, molasses, and a little metallic tinniness in the aroma. Flavor is on the sweet side, with caramel, raisins, and dark fruit. Some roast coffee bitterness in the finish. Fine cold-weather beer.
