Dark amber with a thin head. The aroma is very sweet with candy sugar, caramel, fruit. The flavor is also sweet with sugar, vanilla, bubblegum. There is a nice bit if bitterness in the finish. Strange but good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to glass. Pours a clear deep amber light brown mahogany color with a thin light brown head. Aroma is a mix of toasted malts, nutty, with a hint of toffee and caramel. Nutty caramel sweetness in the flavor. Light in body for a brown with a lingering caramel sweetness. Not too shabby.

Draft at Hardtimes Cafe in Frederick, MD. Served in a pint glass, medium brown color with white head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, brown sugar and slight nuttiness. Taste adds caramel and some cocoa. Light body, moderate carbonation, sticky with a slightly sweet finish. Sweet tasty nutty beer.

On tap @ DuClaw. Smelled of toffee and toast. Standard brown appearance. Smooth clean watery mouthfeel. Going down I do get notes of nuts and toffee. Very smooth, very nutty and very tasty. Excellent.

Pint on tap. Brownish beer, clear, no lacing. Pretty malty, as advertised, toasty too, sweet but not cloying. I don’t taste caramel, but i get the almond. Tasty, a fun beer.

Bottle. Just about what you’d expect from a cleanly and competently made toffee beer. Rich red color, shine, standard head. Sweet sugary aroma and brown sugar and toffee flavors. Gotta be in a mood for something like this myself, but it’s decent. (#5282, 10/8/2013)

MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - SEP 29, 2013
On tap 5 oz. sample at DuClaw in Bowie, MD. Clear, mahogany with a pale khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee and nuts. Taste of toffee, brown sugar, caramel, mild dark fruit and a barely perceptible nuttiness. Medium/full body and medium/low carbonization. A pleasant sweet brown beer, which is virtually all malt. It starts off strong with caramel and toffee, but lacks complexity and ultimately fades as it drowns itself out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
