Poured this beer from a regular bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a light brown-dark copper color with an average, foamy tan head that had average retention and cling, but good lacing. It had a malty nut and caramel aroma with some earthy tones, a bit of sugar, and light toffee. The taste was a malty caramel and nut blend along with a slight grainy earth effect. The body was fairly thin and airy, and was somewhat dry, with low to average carbonation.

Transferring from old rating system. It is a nice basic brown in general. Toasted and slight nutty aroma and taste. Not a lot of the toffee that was expected. Duclaw usually has extra flavorful stuff, this was standard but still good. bottle

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy, off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of nutty malt, chocolate, vanilla, cacao, dark fruit, brown sugar and hint of hops. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is long and semi-dry. On a sweet side but good overall.

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - JUL 27, 2016
On tap at SLL tasting and 12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights. Thin head soon reduces to a partial top coat and ring. Aroma of roasted nuts and toffee with dark bread, but something like a tartness too. Flavor has lots of toffee but about equally bitter and sweet. Medium body and medium-light carbonation.

Bottle, thanks sevenhokie! Extremely sweet toffee aroma with caramel and nutty notes. Pours opaque brown with a thin light brown head with OK retention and good lacing. Starts with caramel malt sweetness with a little bit of nuttiness as well. Finishes smooth with a huge toffee malt sticky sweetness that clings to the palate. Pretty nice brown but almost too sweet.
