12 oz bottle. Pours nearly pitch black in color and topped by a small layer of tan colored foam that shows good retention before settling to a thin film and leaves behind some nice lace on the glass. The aroma is really nice showing notes of dark chocolate, roasted espresso, and creamy peanut butter over a toasted caramel malt base. The chocolate and peanut butter are the dominating notes as expected. The flavor follows and shows more of the same with the rich chocolate and nutty, peanut butter up front followed by notes of roasted espresso. The espresso and dark roasted malts adds ample bitterness on the back end and helps balance out the sweetness. Very similar to the original with more bitterness and maybe amped up on the chocolate and peanut butter notes with no noticeable presence from the alcohol. Medium bodied and smooth with subtle carbonation with an almost creamy mouthfeel from the peanut butter that leads to a smooth chocolate and nutty finish with some lingering roasty bitterness. Pretty tasty stuff, but I don't know if it's any better than the original or not.

Pitch black color with a very large brown head and great retention. Good lacing. Strong chocolate and peanut butter nose. Heavy mouthfeel. Strong chocolate flavor with a light gritty nutty background flavor and booze. Like all imperials, all flavors are sacrificed by high alcohol content. 9.0 ABV is obvious and suppressing. Sweet Baby Jesus is much better.

dandeman (1104) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 24, 2017

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz bottle. Pitch black pour, light khaki colored head, light lacing. Aroma has some generic peanut butter accents a touch of topsoil, Flavor runs along the same lines, peanut butter is prominent, not overall too sweet, some topsoil chalkiness, touch of date-like fruitiness in the back end. Nice chalky mouthfeel,

12oz bottle. Poured a nearly pitch black color, maybe just a really dark cola color. Aroma was chocolate, roasted chocolate with some peanut notes. Flavor was similar, lots of roasted peanuts. Heavy, but not too heavy for a 9% beer.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2017 Chocolate and peanut butter. A lot going on in this bottle, but it was solid nonetheless

Unbelievable aroma... super strong of peanut butter, with a hint of chocolate malt. Appearance is great, would've liked a bit more head. Taste is a lot of peanut butter... not much else. Palate a bit thinner than I thought it'd be. It's a good beer, but I'm a bit disappointed.

Bebum (1126) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 27, 2017
Dark brown, tall, copper, persistent head. Sweet and earthy nose. Very full body, silky texture, assertive flavors, hot and bubbly mouthfeel, bitter, lingering and flavorful aftertaste. Intensely bittersweet, excellent balance. Dense, complex and boisterous flavors, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, prune, alcoholic. Absolutely superb but why not called stout? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very dark brown with a reddish-tan head. Big cocoa chocolatey and peanutbutter nose with notes of coffee breaking through. Thick, powdery mouthfeel. Flavors are identical to the aromas.
