Someone call George Clinton because the Funk is about to arrive. DuClaw’s latest creation, Funk, is a blueberry citrus wheat ale that screams summer with an almost shandy-like crispness and flavor. This brew features Meyer lemons and blueberries as well as Cascade and Columbus hops. Look for this beer on shelves starting next Friday.

Strong blueberry aroma. Hazy yellow appearance. Flavor has blueberries in the forefront. Slight citrus note on the backend. Mouthfeel is medium light with medium carbonation. Overall it's a decent fruit beer. A little too much blueberry though. It overshadows the other components of the beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best viewed as an introductory beer or beer to anchor one end of the tap so that there’s something light for macro drinkers. Some light blueberry and citrus, and a light sweetness in an overall crisp flavor profile, without much distracting from hops. On tap at airport brewery location, BWI.

Bottle. Pours a golden with a white head and nose of grains, malt, and some blueberry coming through. Taste is grainy throughout, with bread and malt notes with slight blueberry into the finish.

Bottle from Total Wine, West Richmond. Pours gold, white head. Aroma of blueberry,.. that is it. Flavor is grass, blueberry, light glue. Plain as hell, like "hey, I found some blueberries growing on the side of the road, lets throw them in with that boring lager"-plain.

Kleg (229) - The Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 2, 2017
Hazy light yellow pour with a white head and fair retention. Minimal lacing. Blueberry nose as expected. Crisp mouthfeel. Taste is acidic blueberry. Not overly fruity but not smooth either. Too seltzer-like.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/17/2016. Pours lightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart blueberry, lemon, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, fruit, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart blueberry, lemon, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of blueberry, lemon, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, fruit, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and slightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice fruited pale wheat ale! All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt, fruit, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, easy, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the ABV, with a great balance between fruit and malt. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft. Poured clear golden color with an average fizzy white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate fruit, yeast and citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet & bitter flavor with a medium bitter & sweet finish of moderate duration.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling, light golden pour, nice bubble action, soft, silky white head with light lacing. Berry-like aroma with a hint of minty coriander. Flavor has some light citrus bitterness, some blueberry fruitiness, wisp of vanilla in the back end. Crisp mouthfeel.

Pours a fairly clear light golden color with no head. Nose is straight up blueberries and grain. Taste is bready, grainy and mild blueberries. Not a tremendous palate pleaser but on the thirst quenching side. Finish is bready, grainy and ends on mild blueberry notes. Fair at best, but not wheat lover. Quaff Score6/ 10

Aurelius (5294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 30, 2016
Standard longneck, bad label. Clear, yellow, not much head. On the cold side, the wheat aroma comes out, as it warms it becomes more pastry-like. Crisp and hoppy, not sweet, biscuity. The berry is just a nice accent and doesn’t take over. The citrus zest quality makes things a bit strange on the bittering front, and maybe a little unpleasant in the finish - it lays on the top of the tongue like aspirin. Lightish body. ABC Liquors, Betton.
