Draft sample at Manahawkin Spirits. Pours a cloudy brown/amber color with a small frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, oak, dark fruit, hints of bourbon, and booze. Taste is much the same. Some alcohol burn, with notes of sweet caramel, barrel, light bourbon, and sweet fruit. TheWhiteWolf (3) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 29, 2014 does not count
Big booze and hops on the first whiff. First taste is big and sweet, citrus and boozy. Like lip smacking sweet. The hops overpower the Bourbon notes but they do exist, reminiscent of BCBW. A sipper fa’sho. Will report back when I pop a bottle with a little more age on it and see if the hops fade and the barrel shines. Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 28, 2014
This beer is a hazy dark brownish-amber color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, wood and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, oaky bourbon, caramel and citrus. The finish is smoky and boozy with a caramel malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall. This one poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was of bourbon, dark fruits and caramel. Flavor was similar, very one dimensional though and not much deep caramel flavors from the underlying beer. TimsRatings (421) - - APR 18, 2014
Pours a murky light brown with a touch of off white head. Sweet (honey) aroma. Creamy mouthfeel to go with the sweet taste.

Thin tan head with fair retention and minimal lacing. Hazy, amber hued brew. Nose of booze, berries, light wood and whisky. Body is medium and oily on the palate with a slight carbonation. Notes of rum and whisky with some vanilla and oakey hints too, mild caramel malts and dark fruits. Finish is slight but warm, hint spicy. Heavily sediment,ed. 12oz. bottle from statelineliquors. dmac (6387) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - APR 13, 2014
12oz bottle frm Spirits Manahawkin. Poured a deep caramel amber body with a smaller off white foamy lasting head. Aroma is nice, wood, light vanilla, toasted coconut, toast, grains, roasted citrus rind, bourbon soaked wood. Medium body that is a bit slick, lighter carbonation, a toch of warmth and a slimy finish, really thinner for a 10.6% beer though. Flavor is the same as the aroma, toasted wood and vanilla with coconut, grains and toast, some citrus as well. Interresting and solid but not mind blowing. pineypower (3345) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - APR 8, 2014
Bottle from Canal’s Hammonton. Pours out a reddish/caramel color with no head. Aroma is campfire, wood, vanilla, light bourbon, toffee and caramel. Taste is complex, some sweet caramel/toffee notes, charred wood, earth, vanilla, some mild dried fruits, and lingering dry alcohol on the finish along with some more lightly smoky fire wood flavors. I like this one, nice cold night beer.
