Big sweet flavor, sugary, boozy, lots of bread, mild oxidation. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, light dry and ripe fruits, sweet bready malts. Bomber 2011 vintage courtesy of Beerand Blues2 (thanks Brad!) poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of bourbon, toffee, plum, raisin, light carmel and light oak. Bottle shared at Natifest ’13. Poured clear dark orange in color with an average white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark sweet malt, vanilla wood and earthy hop aroma. Moderate to heavy smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor to medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a complex beer.

Tap at Max’s. Pours lightly hazy amber with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is cookie and biscuit malt, light caramel malt, vanilla, oak, and bourbon with fruity esters and earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with vanilla, oak, and bourbon, dates and a sweet texture and dry finish. Full body, medium warmth and light carbonation.
This beer is a hazy dark brownish-amber color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, wood and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, oaky bourbon, caramel and citrus. The finish is smoky and boozy with a caramel malt aftertaste.
