On tap at unos in sampler.this might as well be a scotch. So yummy and woody with sweet honey in a ruby pour kimjongill (207) - - MAY 9, 2013
Dark orange/ruby pour into snifter with thin white head - this is a noteably beautiful beer. Aroma of fruit/malt/bourbon. Taste is much of the same, but the beer has a bit of an off-bite or edge, but I would suspect that a year or so of aging could solve that issue entirely. Otherwise a very solid bourbon barrel aged barleywine. It’s in the same league as Central Waters, but falls a bit short of the Victory Oak Horizontal or Sucaba. Pours a dark copper with a tad bit of a head. Wonderful citrus, dried fruit aroma. Taste is big and smooth. Fruity initially fades gently. Not much hotness from the alcohol DocLock (11048) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2016
Bottle from WF PM. Pours hazy copper with loud, off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, molasses, oaky bourbon. Tastes rich, very dense on the tongue, with heavy oak and bourbon flavor, caramel, molasses, hops, mild smoky flavor. This is the best DuClaw beer I have had, and I’ll be buying a case to cellar. adrian910ss (2596) - Doylestown, PA, USA - AUG 15, 2014
