German Style Pilsner

A throwback to a simpler time, this traditional light golden, German-style Pilsner is medium-bodied and crisp, with a precise balance of malt and hop flavors that is always on target. Toss it back and you’ll agree, when it comes to refreshment, Lawn Dart is a BULLSEYE!

Crystal clear coloured copper and light golden coloured body with a very thin, half centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of fresh grass, grain, a touch of citrus and some very herbal and perfumey notes. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour at first with some grasses, grain, a touch of citrus and light funk noticeable at first with a very subdued herbal and perfumey aspect right behind, without much flavour. Aftertaste is extremely dry and very subdued with a touch of light grassy hops noticeable, but mainly mild and subtle with some funk and grain with herbs and perfume noticeable. Overall, a pretty understated and mellow beer with some light grain, a touch of herbs and perfume with a large dose of grass and perfume noticeable throughout. Not really worth purchasing or trying to find, unless you like more more grassier and mild pilsners with some light hoppy qualities picked up toward the end. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Fairfax, Virginia on 10-September-2017 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 17-February-2018.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 Can picked up locally. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is pale malt, herbal, lightly floral and grassy. The flavor is pale malt, grainy, herbal, hints of spice and hay. Fairly light and clean. This is just not a style I enjoy.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Growler County, part of a flight. Sparkling, light golden pour, slight off white head, nice lace. Aroma is pretty much neutral with a hint of grain and biscuit - like maltiness. Crisp lager flavor with some buttery accents, a touch of honey sweetness, some biscuit - like sweet malty notes. Crisp, refreshing mouthfeel.
