The winner of Baltimore Magazine’s “Best Beer in Baltimore 1998.” We’d like to thank the smooth, roasted malt flavor. The mild hop presence. The little people.

Wife ordered this draft at Il Forno in Frederick, MD. Served in a beer mug, red-hued brown color with off-white head. Aroma of bready malt sweetness, toffee, light spices and faint nuttiness. Taste adds notes of caramel, roasted malt and light earthy bitterness. Light body, moderate-light carbonation, crisp, dry with clean caramel-like finish. Pretty decent red, easy drinking.

This is an average red. Easy to drink, flavorful and smooth, but nothing to really set it apart from any other red.

Tap. Decent head. Clear brown appearance with ok lacing. Earthy taste. Okay palate that doesn’t linger.
