The winner of Baltimore Magazines Best Beer in Baltimore 1998. Wed like to thank the smooth, roasted malt flavor. The mild hop presence. The little people.

Tap @ Bowie. Amber color with a moderate head. Aroma is fairly split between malt and hops. Somewhat sweet, but relatively balanced. Easy drinking. Average and unoffensive.

Deep brown-red and clear. Cant smell it over the cigarettes at the bar, but its lightly sweet-malty. Briny , dry, lightly astringent. A soapy flavor in the back of the palate which makes me wonder if the glass wasnt washed well. Not very bitter. medium body. Better fizz than the others here.

I really liked this beer. It was Rock Bottoms Racoon Red, without as much hop presense. It wasnt their best, but a very strong/solid offering.

Less hoppy, but still almost as bitter as the Venom sampled that day. This was the "middle of the road" beer for the 6 beer sampler. If slightly less hop and more malt, I would recommend it as a session beer. Slight sweetness on the togue and just creamy (not as a stout or porter, but moreso than a typical ale) on the tongue. Probably the third best beer of the patch (Octoberfest and Bare Ass Blonde topped for this go round) (Tap 11/11/2006)

[Draft at the Bowie location] An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is light with notes of caramel - too light for my liking. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and bread, and with a light note of metal in the finish. I find it kind of boring - lacking character.

Draught @ DuClaw Bowie Amber mahogany, creamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Nose of toffee and roast, light metallic hop. The flavor is creamy and roasty, light body, finish is good. A bit metallic. Eh.

Darker color than other amber ales with a slim white head. Color is closer to a porter than an amber. The flavor is malty with slight hints of fruit. Very clean on the palate with a slightly bitter finish. This beer is missing something though and too subtle to be as touted as it was.

Dark brown with red highlights. Caramel maltiness and some hops in the aroma. Lightly sweet and malty flavor. The flavor lingers.

Server compared this to a Killians Draught. Yeah, not like a Killians but quite a distinctive Amber Ale with a relatively full body. The second best staple beer DuClaw offers (behind Venom), Misfit Red is a superb American Brew that represents a well rounded palate. Great choice for people who are starting to try something else besides macros.

On Tap at DuClaw, a very red beer in the look and taste. the beer has a noice hop and malt balence, and is definetly my favorite of the non sesonal DuClaw beers. A little bit of a bitter taste at the end, not from the hops, it is just there, cant really explain it.
