Pours a honey/orange color with a medium lt tan head...nice color...good lacing. Aroma is subtle but has a spiciness reminiscent of ginger ale. Flavor has more going on...grains of paradise and a gingery/thyme like spice (cardamom?)...mild spicy/grassy bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and silky with a dry bitter/spicy finish. jgb9348 (6250) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - OCT 22, 2012
Slightly hazy nice deep copper coloured body with a orange and almost ruby glow wiht a fast-dying, soda-like tan head about a centimetre tall. Aroma of crazy stuff, like cardamom, aniseed, fennelseed, lavender, basil, coriander seed and a bunch of caster sugar and plenty of yeast - pungent smells. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strongish spice notes up front that fade after one or two seconds, tops, showing a ton of yeast, a lot of wheat and other lighter malts and a bit of a sweetness from plain caster sugar. Aftertaste is less complex than I assumed from the smell, but a nice different beer, bordering more on this style than anything else. Overall, within this style it’s average as best, but as a biere de garde, I’d give it a much better ’try to find’ review if you really enjoy the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 01-August-2012 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 21-October-2012. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 21, 2012
12oz bottle. Clear amber body, medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, spicy, bread, light cantaloupe. Taste is medium sweet, bread, spicy, some cantaloupe. Light-medium body, light stickiness, effervescence, very drinkable. BeerandBlues2 (13304) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Tap. Pours clear copper with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with spare lacing. Aroma is lavender and coriander notes, straw and cereal malt with earthy, spicy, and herbal hops. Flavor is malt forward with spices, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Tap at Duckaw Arundel Mills. Pours a low haze deeper amber. Medium off white head. Good retention. Nose is mega perfumey with huge sage. Some very musty attic notes. Big rose hips and grandmas perfume. Interesting... Taste is dry, moderately bitter, loads of sage and rosemary herbal bitterness. Not bad. Palate is slightly soapy and lavender perfume heavy. A bit papery. Lacing is thick and complete.

12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of huge, big spice, nutmeg, nutty notes, wheat and floral notes. Taste of toasted wheat, cereal notes, citrus and spice. Medium bodied. Beerathon (1683) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2012
A unique beer to be sure due to the interesting spice notes. Burnt orange in color with fizzy head that goes away. The spice aroma jumps out of the glass at you, but isn’t overwhelming in the taste. Mouth feel is a bit too light for something with such spice, but decent overall. baraciisch (3232) - California, USA - AUG 30, 2012
Ridiculous spices in this one... Flavor is dominated by all the spices, interesting, but wouldn’t drink more than one DasBierChef (1083) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 28, 2012
Not bad, but not great. I like it and all but wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. drfabulous (7938) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - AUG 25, 2012
12 ounce thanks to Michelle. Bit of a yeasty ale. Somewhat spicy. Some sugar. But that’s about it.
