Draft @ The Mills (ABV - 5.5%) - Dark hazed gold, creamy white head. Fresh flowers and cinnamon earth aromas ride lighter waves of white peppered apples and ginger. Great complexity for a lower ABV. Well balanced spiced florals and hints of fruity earth flavors round to quick dry finish. Never sweet and super drinkable for this type of beer. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. I love when a brewer steps away from the norm to bring out the creative side of the spectrum, and ends up doing it very well without a doubt. Great stuff... mwelsh13 (499) - Maryland, USA - AUG 20, 2009
Draft pours golden in color with a slight haze and a good thick head. Major aroma of orange this year. Medium body with some fruit and a bit of bitterness in the beginning. Nice body and easy to drink. closey22 (1946) - Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA - MAY 28, 2017
Deep Amber brownish orang with rimmimg beige head
Aroma is spicy herbal notes of peppermint
Flava is... different. herbal notes upfront then grain blended with lavender or rosemary for something like that
Feels medium chewy with nice moderate fizz
Finishes dry with bitterness blended with herb/spice
Deep complex beer that Made me really think..:] NomDeBeer (414) - Maryland, USA - AUG 27, 2009
On tap @ Bel Air location. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Spicy aroma. Taste is caramel malt and more spice. Very smooth and easy to drink. Good beer. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - AUG 13, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2008 Draft @ Arundel Mills. Pours a hazy, bright orange color; solid off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing; nice, bright pour. Loads of soft, well-integrated spicing in the aroma; picked out grains of paradise, and something that seemed like ginger; Jim mentioned there’s cardamom (definitely) and chamomile; very nicely integrated, soft-edged spice profile; touches of orange peel. Lively carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, orange-tinged maltiness and loads of soft spicing; cardamom, grains of paradise, suggestions of ginger (maybe this is chamomile; maybe I need to drink more tea); lightly toasted malts and the slightest touch of orange-tinged sweetness; nicely spiced, very drinkable Belgian ale. Enjoyed this quite a lot. Medium finish: loads of lightly toasted malts, breadiness, and soft, lingering spices.

Cinnamon, clove, cherry, and malt nose. Clear copper, thin head. Soft mouthfeel. Light allspice flavor, neutral malt. Alcohol not terribly noticeable. Strange but in a good way.

Slightly hazy nice deep copper coloured body with a orange and almost ruby glow wiht a fast-dying, soda-like tan head about a centimetre tall. Aroma of crazy stuff, like cardamom, aniseed, fennelseed, lavender, basil, coriander seed and a bunch of caster sugar and plenty of yeast - pungent smells. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strongish spice notes up front that fade after one or two seconds, tops, showing a ton of yeast, a lot of wheat and other lighter malts and a bit of a sweetness from plain caster sugar. Aftertaste is less complex than I assumed from the smell, but a nice different beer, bordering more on this style than anything else. Overall, within this style it’s average as best, but as a biere de garde, I’d give it a much better ’try to find’ review if you really enjoy the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 01-August-2012 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 21-October-2012. Aromas of cardamom, tea, grains of paradise, floral hops, and lemon. Golden copper with decently lasting, white head foam. Dry, floral, herbaceous, and with a snappy bitterness. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, spicy, and finishes with a clean citrusy and earthy flavor. alobar (3793) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 17, 2008
Cloudy orange yellow color with a white head. Aroma of cinnamon, orange, yeast, and caradamom. Taste is yeast, cinnamon, cardamom, and some citrus sweetness. Nice beer. gizmo_ber (190) - Steinwenden, GERMANY - JUL 7, 2012
Dark amber pour, strong spicy aroma with hard hitting taste, but smooth finish. Very interesting, but not sure I really like it.
