Pours murky brown with an off white head with some lace. Aroma is sweet malt extract, alcohol. Taste is sweet fruits, caramel, alcohol kicks in with a warm finish. somewhat sticky and dry. stumpyiliz (218) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Red amber pour. Fast dissipating head. Nose is big fruit n caramel, molasses as well. Taste is sweet complex and slightly boozy. Caramel, tart, flavor. Great lasting hop finish. Quite an amazing brew. Wish I could buy a case and let it settle down a few years in the cellar. Oh we’ll. If you see this one, its worth buying. italianjohn (3186) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 29, 2012
Cloudy brown amber pour, thin off white ring of head ... aroma of sweet caramel malts and fruity yeast .... smells sweet like a port .... tastes mostly of candi sugar, grainy caramel malts and fruity yeast with a bitter grainy and boozy backend that lingers into the finish .... mouthfeel was thick and syrupy .... almost like a port with a boozy bitter finish .... just wasn’t feelin it tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle courtesy of Jason, shared with friends. Fruity, sweet and boozy. Honey, toffee, some caramel. DocLock (10835) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Capped bomber from Craft. Pours turbid deep ruby with a finger of frothy and amazingly well-retained off-tan head for a beer this gargantuan. The nose is caramel malt, charred toffee, dark fruit, syrup, and hops. Tastes thick, very sweet and syrupy, very fruity, with notes of meady honey, caramel malt, backup hops, pruney fruit, and amazingly well hidden alcohol for a beer this size and density. The finish is complex, fruity, smooth, and syrupy, and the hops emerge a bit more.

Thanks to anggrec for this. Pours a murky brown with a thin head. The aroma is very nice, fruit, caramel, some sugar. The flavor has the caramel and fruit and a much sweeter sugar presence. This one is not for the hop heads out there. It has a sticky mouth feel and a long lasting after taste. Braudog (6789) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark red and thin, with a thin head. But the aroma is your fort warning. Rich with cooked sugar and alcohol, I’m already afraid. This drinks with rich, ripe, dark fruit .... Clearly high gravity, and quite possibly flammable. (#4715, 8/2/2012) Arayaga2 (2207) - portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Dark apricot color with a dense inch of off-white head. Aroma is ripe stonefruits and caramel. Taste is the same, and super-rich, with some vanilla notes and very high residual sweetness, and a tangy, grapey tannic bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of a dialed-down Colossus, so I regret not buying a second bottle, but it is overly sweet and hard to drink $11/22oz HighWine (959) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - JUN 25, 2012
Tap in a plastic cup (shame). Toasted chestnut colored pour. Aroma is sweet tea, white grape juice and mustard seed? Taste is agave nectar, golden brown sugar, and dry white toast. The huge ABV is completely hidden. Pretty impressive disguise of the booze content. Medium palate. I'm a fan.

Apple, banana, currant, and fig nose, not strong. Cloudy rust, thin head. Full body, viscous.Syrupy sweet flavor of cherries, currants, dates, and peaches. Finishes warm with southern comfort and apple cores. Curious beer with intriguing complexities. I really want to like it, but the sweetness is beyond the pale.
