3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Inky brown/black with a cm of camel-colored head. Aroma is chocolate, fig, and light coffee. Taste is the same, and rich and sweet, with the prominent minerality of well-water from my childhood, and some autolyzed yeast components, which mingle with acrid roast notes. $10/22oz
Bottle. Pours murky brown/black with little to no head. I love the concept; barley win and imp stout mixed. The aroma backs that up - sweet/dark chocolate notes, honey, some coffee. That carries through to the flavor. The coffee is present but forgettable. Chocolate and caramel in the background. Everything is a bit too subtle and doesn’t blend as well as I’d hoped. snoworsummer (6273) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 29, 2014
Draft at DuClaw Arundel Mills. Pours almost black with a thin, fizzy beige head. Tastes like alcohol, strong boozy, slightly astringent flavor, molasses, caramel, light raisin. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like dried dark fruits, molasses, booze. jtclockwork (17631) - , New Jersey, USA - JUL 2, 2014

Sampled during CBC 2013. Almost black pour with a small khaki head. Roast, dark fruits, coffee, and chocolate on the aroma. The flavor follows with roast, coffee, chocolate, and dark fruits. I dig it!

22oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a one finger dark tan head. Smells of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, oak, toasted malts, and vanilla. Tastes of dark fruits with some light caramel and brown sugar notes upfront. Some vanilla, chocolate, roasty malts, and cocoa powder follow. Slightly bitter roasted coffee in the finish. Plenty of warming alcohol was present throughout. Medium bodied and somewhat sticky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. conway (2210) - - MAR 20, 2013
Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. A big beer. Overly sweet and unfocused.

This beer was pretty complex. A start of coffee with a creamy sweet flavor in between and a slightly dark bitter finish
