This is a darned fine and approachable coffee porter. Lots of notes of coffee, of course, but also a nice roundness of cocoa to the nose and especially in the back of the mouth. Lightly sweet, lightly astringent, my only complaint is I would have liked a heavier, silkier body to it... but then it would probably be a stout, not a porter. juiceisloose (1565) - Windermere, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2017
All in all, it's quite a fine coffee porter, reasonably well balanced without being overwhelming. Maybe a little too intense in the coffee to be a session beer, but I'd drink this alongside a donut anytime.
12 oz bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown and topped by a small layer of tan colored foam at the head that shows good retention and settles to a thin film and leaves behind some nice lace on the glass. The aroma is really nice showing notes of dark chocolate, roasted espresso, creamy peanut butter, over a caramel malt base. The espresso is light in the nose as the chocolate and peanut butter are the stars as you would expect. The flavor follows and shows more of the same with the rich chocolate and peanut butter up front followed by the roasted espresso. The espresso adds ample bitterness on the back end and helps balance out the sweetness. Very similar to the original with much more bitterness on the back end from the espresso. Medium bodied with subtle carbonation with a slick and almost creamy mouthfeel from the peanut butter that leads to a smooth chocolate and nutty finish with lingering espresso bitterness. Tasty stuff but I still prefer the original. jsmerig (1700) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2017

Dark brown color. Strong aroma of chocolate and hazelnut. Robust dark caramel flavor, some dark chocolate, roasted nuts. A bit ashy in the final.
355ml bottle @ Matt's. Pours a mostly opaque dark brown colour with a reddish hue and a thin tan head. Nose is massively sweet peanut butter. Flavour is liquid peanut butter Halloween toffee candies with a semi bitter dark cocoa finish. Not bad, nice peanut character, however thin bodied. Dark brown. Not much head. On the nose, this has a lot of coffee, and yeah, peanut butter...really quite nutty. Lots of peanut butter, and then there's some chocolate. Thin. Odd...flavoured beer but without the richness that a lot of these types of beers have. I think with the coffee is the good element, that peanut butter stuff I'm not digging that. Bottle - Peanut butter and light chocolate. Jet brown with a small beige head. Peanut butter and an odd bitterness in the finish. No Java here. mcberko (19193) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 30, 2017
12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with peanut butter, followed by dark cocoa and coffee. Flavour is loaded with roasted peanuts upfront, with coffee and a touch of dark cocoa. Really nice roasted peanut character. Light on the palate, but nicely constructed. Good stuff. Growler from Growler Country on the way back from seeing the mouse. Really flavorful with lots of roasted nuttiness and plenty of coffee. Flavored like a stout with the lighter body of a porter. Very pleasant.
