couleur noire; mousse beige; arômes et goût de chocolat et de beurre de cacahuète (trop); finale légèrement amère shigadeyo (3730) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 3, 2017
Smells like peanut butter candy chew (think "Mary Jane" chews or similar) and some milk chocolate; deep coffee color with a bubbly brown-colored head; nice chocolate and roasted peanut flavor at first with some cold coffee, roasted maltiness, hard chocolate candy (think "Chocolate Tootsie Pop"), and a lingering bitterness (combination of herbal hops and charred malt/espresso-like acidity); medium body, sharp carbonation, wish it had more creaminess since it lacks mouthfeel overall; pretty good and I’m super glad that this isn’t more nasty PB2, but the Terrapin Liquid Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter is way better. jt78 (9) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 23, 2017 does not count

our first Du Claw offering and our first review overall!! Picked up a single on a lark unsure of whether this would be gross or delicious. Fortunately, it’s much more towards the latter. The first thing you notice is the very pronounced smell of both peanut butter and chocolate (as indicated by the name). The taste is a little more subtle with the peanut butter flavor building slowly through several sips and leaving a strong aftertaste. Overall, if it sounds like something you’d be interested in it’s worth trying out, but I don’t think it is something I would want to have with any frequency. It’s definitely a once every week or two kinda beer. GTAEgeek (2185) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 11, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Thanks, Ian! Black color, with a ruby tint and a big, bubbly, tan head. The aroma is roasted peanuts, baking chocolate, brown sugar, pine sap, and toffee. Sweet and malty, with a mild, unpleasant bitterness. Light to medium body, syrupy, and a little astringent. This is a fun and aromatic porter, but the long, bitter aftertaste is unfortunate.

Bottle poured dark brown with small beige head. Smell is peanut butter, chocolate and dark ass malt. Flavor predominately peanuts and peanut butter initially then take over by hop, cocoa and juicy alcohol. Tasty stuff. ExpendableHero (918) - Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2016
Almost black beer with a brown head. Aromas of dark coffee and peanut butter. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt peanuts, and earth. Bittersweet finish. A bit cloying with an oily mouth feel. I thought this was tasty, but would have like more peanut butter here. hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - DEC 11, 2016
Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured dark brown with a big tan head that left good lacing. Nose of burnt malts, chocolate, and a ton of peanut butter. Medium body. Flavor is very intense and the burnt malts and peanut butter go well together and the chocolate adds background. Finishes with citrus and lots of peanut butter plus nice bitterness. Nice beer. 12 ounce bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Very dark brown with caramel highlights. A big beige creamy head is four fingers. During the pour I smelled peanuts and rich dark malts. I taste peanuts and peanut skins. Malt milk balls under that. Citrus and hop bitterness, too. I don’t really get any peanut butter but it is almost like drinking peanuts with those Malted Milk Balls. S_Side_Smitty (766) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2016
Pours deep brown with a medium tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is really nice aroma of peanut butter and chocolate. Taste has a sharp bitterness initially then the peanut and chocolate flavors creep in. That bitterness hangs on throughout the palate all the way to the finish. Aroma is beautiful, but taste is off balance -- the sharp bitterness described as "a subtle hop character" throws me off. Overall, good.
