Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden.
A - Pours dark brown with a small off white head leaving spotty trails of thin lace down the top part of the glass.
S - Smells of fresh toasted peanuts, bakers chocolate and the dark roasted grain. The nuts are strong, combining with the chocolate to make this ones nose exactly as advertised.
T - Tastes just like it smells, maybe with a bit less nuts, making it a bit more balanced. Some light hop bitterness comes through as it warms up. Finish is roasty, lingering on the palate for quite awhile after consumption.
M - Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, roasty feel. Finish is roasty, lingering for quite awhile.
O- Overall a pretty good chocolate PB beer but not the best I have had. Definitely worth a shot if your into this kind of beer, just don’t expect the something mind blowing.
The peanut butter here is massive, but the overall effect is still fairly positive. I enjoyed the richness, the dark malts, and the fact that it was less sweet than a spoonful of peanut butter--which I occasionally will eat. Overall, decent. On tap at airport brewery location, BWI. caribou43 (989) - Lausanne/Sevilla/Lima, SWITZERLAND - JUN 14, 2017
I bought this bottle at the drink of the world in Geneva and I taste this delicious beverage, on the train from Geneva to Sion. In my point of view, it is a really good beer, original, typical American. The body is a pleasant black color, creamy and brown head. The carbonation is regular for the style. The taste is overpowered by the peanuts butter, sensation of sweetness like a goodness licor coming through your throat, roasted malt, hop, side of vanilla, a bit soapy at the final, good experience!!!! shadey (2125) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 3, 2017
12oz bottle. Matte black pour with a nice dark tan head. Rich malty aroma with a big sweetness and mild roast. Flavors are very smooth and the body is silky. jjgmd (2146) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2017
Bottle, pours a dark black brown pour with an ephemeral java colored head. Nose is sweet malt with heavy chocolate and peanut butter. Taste is very sweet chocolate malt and milder peanut butter. Finishes on the same sweet sugary chocolate peanut butter notes. Not as heavy as I expected, which was pleasing. Quaff Score 8 / 10 drpimento (3564) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - APR 2, 2017
Well, There’s no doubt whatsoever that it’s a peanut butter Porter. Aroma’s in your face peanut butter and a little roasty malt. Flavor’s like nose, fairly dry, average carbonation. Long
