I must say, this is a special brew. This whole chocolate/peanut butter wannabe Reese’s porter thing has really taken off of the last year or so -- gone are the days of just porters, now they must involve some gimmick. SBJ throws in the gimmick, but pulls it off excellently. Nose of pure peanut butter rises from a coal black body with brownish head, nice lacing. Taste is chocolate and peanut on a near perfect body that gives you the impression of a milkshake.
Dark color with a peanut butter aroma. Sweet malt and peanut butter flavor balanced a little bit by hops. Unusual, like drinking a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. FlacoAlto (4228) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 6, 2018
This definitely smells like peanuts, and this is done better than other peanut beers I have had, but I still can't quite help but feeling that peanuts just don't work in beer; somehow putting it in a beer brings out a harsh, sort of nail-polish like note in the peanuts. The beer is a concentrated brown / black color, and it is topped by a frothy, nicely browned, dirty tan colored head. Other aromas of cocoa, chocolate syrup, and perhaps some acrid coffee roasted notes are also noticeable.AssKicker (715) - Strasbourg, FRANCE - JAN 5, 2018
The beer tastes of peanuts, and again is not as offensive as other beers of this type, since it is a touch more subtle, but it still doesn't quite work with a fake, chemical, peanut sort of flavor going on. There is lots of roasted flavors that even linger in the finish with a bit of bitterness, and ample chocolate syrup like flavors are found here as well. The body has a bit of heft to it, but the beer is definitely on the light side of chewy.
Not bad for a peanut flavored beer, but it just doesn't quite work for me.
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2018 Bue à la pression. Couleur brune archi dark. Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - DEC 31, 2017
Backlog entry prior to closing out 2017. Well rounded, as expected. Nothing too unusual. hitemwitthehein (43) - - DEC 11, 2017

.Appearance: Dark blackish brown, with a frothy brown head.
.Aroma: Chocolate and roasted peanuts. Slight roasted malt, burnt sugar, caramel.
.Taste: Surprisingly nice flavor. Good combination of flavors. Chocolate, sugary peanut butter. Very slight bitterness on the end. Little on the sweet side.
.Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation. Slight dryness. Very easy sipping.
.Bottom Line: Easy drinking porter with nicely implemented flavors of chocolate and peanut. Nothing overly complex, simply enjoyable.

Dr pepper color and a strong powdered peanut butter aroma with some heavy roast verging into ash. Taste is sweet, peanuts work decently, but overall the beer lacks the oomph of the best examples of this style. piscator34 (2673) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 11, 2017
Bottle. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Strong aroma of toasted peanut and cheap chocolate. Flavors of sugary peanut butter, milk chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of ash. Medium bodied with a blend of both sweet malt, toasted nut, and chalk on the finish.
