Dark brown. Aroma is coffee and funkyness. Taste of roasted coffee and finishes with lactulose? Not really a big fan of this style. Body is a little light and nice chocolate and coffee flavors are mild. Leaves taste in mouth of a finished cigar.

Bottle... Pours cloudy and dark brown with flashes of copper and a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is overflowing with mocha, candied tree nuts and gooey caramel. Medium-bodied with a slick, but also thin mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor offers a mild ration of mocha followed by a minerally, lightly astringent, watery finish. Not as creamy or silky as a milk/oatmeal/sweet stout should be. Bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94!

Pours black with a soapy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt. Sweet flavor with chocolate, vanilla, lactose upfront and roasted malt and espresso at the back end. Great beer! Too bad it’s retired.

This one poured a darker borwn with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast, chocolate and caramel. Falvor was similar, very bland, not much chocolate and roast.

Saved at Capone’s for me, so aged a bit. Black with a minimal topping, and lace. As it warms, getting cherry and lactose. A sipper, but decent to try.

Bomber - Has an awesome roasty smoke aroma and a dark coffee taste and a hint of (dark) chocolate. The mouthfeel was a little thin. Gets better as it gets warmer.

Bottle. Black with a light tan 1 finger head. Aroma is espresso and lactose. Taste follows suit but adds a hint of chocolate. Balance seems a little off though. Espresso is a little too bitter. Palate is creamy and full. Close but a little off.

February 2013. Sampled at the Arundel Mills brewpub. Black with a tan head. Sweet aromas with coffee and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel, smooth finish.

Cola black with a bit of tan head. Aroma is not as coffee as I expected, and neither is taste. This isn’t the beer I expected from this brewer, but aside from expectations, it’s a fine enough beer. $8/22ox

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with tan brown head. Nose and taste of espresso, milk sugar, cocoa powder and roast black malts. Touch of smoked chocolate. Medium body.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 5/31/13

Aroma: The aroma is sweet and malty, with chocolate, brown sugar, milk, and a little roast
Appearance: It pours a cola black color with a small beige head and some light, spotty lace
Flavor: Tastes similar to the nose, though its a little thin, it’s still mostly sweet malts with light roast
Palate: The feel, like the flavor, is a bit thin, it has a soft, creamy feel to it, and a fairly short finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a solid one, but it has a few flaws. The flavor just doesn’t carry through with quite enough oomph. Otherwise, it is a fine beer.
