nybol (2201) - DENMARK - JUL 12, 2017
En kraftig øl der har noter af rosiner, har en skarp smag i forhold til at være en barley wine.

TorbenJensen (1528) - Valby, DENMARK - AUG 12, 2015
Malt character is full-bodied, hops discreetly withdrawn, good fruity richness and high alcohol strength. It looks and tastes most like a strong bock. When I go a little deeper and tastes thoroughly, I find clear raisin, a little plum and peach, and it is only here I notice the hint of vinous that can catalog it as a barley wine. It currently has the good soft and easily hidden alcohol taste, rather than a more aggressive malt profile with only weak fruit tones, is probably that it is still very young. With its current profile is set for a beer after a few years certainly will develop positively and perhaps become one of the worlds best barley wines.

Alengrin (5383) - BELGIUM - AUG 4, 2014
Interesting Danish barley wine with light beige, moussy foam that remains relatively stable in view of the alcohol strength. Bronze colour, appealing and richly perfumed aroma of pineapple, hazelnuts, cognac, pear syrup, coffee liqueur, caramel... Sweetish taste of candied fruits in onset, honeyish and caramelly malts, towards the finish more and more roasted bitterness (which I would not normally expect in a barley wine, but anyway), tannins and warming alcohol.

Beer5000 (6494) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2013
500 ml bottle sampled in 2008. Unclear reddish brown body with a small beige head. Aroma feels like sweet malt, dry fruit and there is some alcohol. Flavor is quite smooth sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit moderate bitterness and warming alcohol. Fine body and good aftertaste. I see from previous ratings that there is really mixed opinion on this one, it actually seems like the quality might vary a lot from bottle to bottle. Mine where rather nice and enjoyable.

motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - APR 1, 2012
bottled. reddish amber with a thin semblance of a head; lightly vinous aroma; hints of caramel, some alcohol showing; perhaps a bit too restrained

Ratman197 (14856) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Bottle courtesy of Doodler (thanks Scott) poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, toasted malt, light orange and a hint of barnyard. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of carmel, toffee, tobacco and citrus with a crisp dry tart lingering funky finish.

Camons (12453) - Hasselager, DENMARK - JUL 6, 2011
