Clear dark amber with huge off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel and hoppy notes. Sweet fruity flavor with caramel and hoppy notes. Rather vinious. Ends bitter.

3.1
Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 20, 2008
Nice red mahogany with a huge, lasting and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel and the flavour has a burnt, malty bitterness, notes of caramel, alcohol, light candy sugar and some citrussy grapefruit tartness. The body is OK, but IMO it’s not as balanced as it should be!

3.4
fiulijn (21214) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 18, 2008
Brown color. As far as it can get from a Barley Wine, it has a very strong caramel character, with a powerful bitterness and some alcohol warmth.

3.3
joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 17, 2008
Bottle. Cloudy orange red coloured with a medium szied off white ehad. Swet aroma of caramel and spices with notes of dried fruits and fruits and some acidic notes. Sweet flavour of caramel, fruits, cookies, dried fruits and hops. Dry hoppy finish.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2008
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of BelJohansen. Clear, dark amber golden with a dense, lacing beige head. Some light aroma hops in the nose with a whiff of burned caramel. Good full body with a solid base of caramel malt. A somewhat unrefined bitterness in the finish. If some better and more distinct aroma hops were used this could have some potential. 140308

3.5
yespr (47545) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 14, 2008
50 cL bottle. Pours reddish, slight hazy and with a dense light tan head. Hoppy fruity aroma. Flavour is light spiced and fruity hoppy. Mild caramel malt base and a growing bitterness and nice lingering fruity note. Ends with a solid lingering caramel malt and light fruity note.

3.6
faroeviking (11215) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - MAR 7, 2008
Bottle. Pours a deep amber-brown colour. Nice sweet caramel, well toasted malt, raisins and fruity hops. Quite good mouthfeel. Sweet, well malted, caramel, dark fruitish, hoppy bit alcoholic flavour. Sweet malty dry finish.

3.4
Ungstrup (38384) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAR 7, 2008
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thick tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, as well as medium notes of dusty hops. The flavor is rather sweet with a good deal of malt and alcohol, that gives it a good body and a dry finish.
