superspak (5880) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - OCT 12, 2017
330 ml bottle into snifter, best before 6/30/2021. Pours murky/dense very dark brown color with a small light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge milk chocolate syrup, cocoa, caramel, toffee, ice cream, vanilla frosting, brown sugar, marshmallow, brownie batter, fudge, and molasses; with lighter notes of smoke, toasted dark bread, coffee, char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, cocoa, coconut, and vanilla notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk chocolate syrup, cocoa, caramel, toffee, ice cream, vanilla frosting, brown sugar, marshmallow, brownie batter, fudge, and molasses; with lighter notes of smoke, toasted dark bread, coffee, char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very mild roast/char bitterness on the finish. lingering notes of milk chocolate syrup, cocoa, caramel, toffee, ice cream, vanilla frosting, brown sugar, marshmallow, brownie batter, fudge, molasses, light coffee/smoke, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, cocoa, coconut, and vanilla flavors; with a solid roasted bitter/sweet balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/rich, and fairly slick/syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal chalky roast or dryness. Zero warming alcohol for 11.5%. Overall this is a fantastic dessert imperial stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, cocoa, coconut, and vanilla flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on; despite the very rich, sweet, and heavy finish. Really authentic tasting cake, fudge, and frosting flavors; while still feeling just roasty enough to be a stout. One of the sweetest tasting stouts I've ever had, but still doesn't feel cloying. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing experimental dessert beer.

Tap. Black with small head. Holy shit, the aroma on this is unreal. Chocolate cream, so good. Flavor is more of the same. A chocolate lover's dream. Vanilla and dark fruit. Slight booze.
