At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy bubbly head, cloudy oxidised red color, aroma of candy, jam and stale bread, candy and jam flavor, quite bitter, light to medium sweetness. Drinkable but old and not really exciting. zvikar (6264) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - SEP 5, 2017

Aroma thick of maltiness though with some unpleasant old socks scents. Full and oily. Sweet with some old hops vibe and old hop bitterness
Pretty typical BW, bit of apple, some fermented flavors there, honey, floral aromas. OK but can do better for the $ VamboladeTolly (2156) - Tartu, ESTONIA - JUL 1, 2017
Bottle. Pours slight hazy amber with medium sticky yellowish head. Aroma: malty, caramel, herbs and hay,rye,raddish- seems that it wanna stay more, Taste: medium sweet, some raddish, caramel, weak toffee, balancing sourness. Full body. OK. erikaraeb (262) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 29, 2017
Getting some cinnamon, clove, allspice, and floral-type flavours typical of a barleywine, though the bod is much lighter than usual. Decent carbo. Avoids being syrupy. MartinT (10014) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 25, 2017

Pine-laden caramel are juxtaposed to citrusy, gin-like undercurrents in this efficient Barley Wine.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the hazy red.
-This is somewhat reminiscent of Anchor’s Old Foghorn.
-Mouthfeel is relatively lean for the style.
-Alcohol warmth works nicely with the piney notes.
Bottle. Thx Per!
Cloudy amber-brown with a bubbly head. The nose is full on honey, treacle, some piney hops. On the palate the honey element is rich and prominent, with pithy grapefruit rind bitterness. Minimal ester character is a bit unusual. Touch of alcohol in the finish.
