Hoppsan's rating

3.6
Hoppsan (151) - Stockholm, - DEC 7, 2013
33 cl bottle. Pours dark brown-ish with small head. Aroma is full of roasted malts, some coffee and smoke. Also vanilla, oily phenols and alcohol in taste. A little too thin body for the ABV and complex tastes, and the finish is not only pleasant (a little bit too much lactose and acid). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sötét szín, nem túl tartós bézs hab. Kávés és pörkölt malátás illat. Enyhén keserű, kellemes itóka jól elrejtett alkohollal. A karácsonyi ízt nem nagyon éreztem ki belőle.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black rye bread, coffee, cacao, burnt sugar, liquorice, hints of tar and some spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, black rye bread, cacao, burnt sugar, tarry hints of smoke, liquorice, dark fruit and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rounded mouthfeel and very well balanced, with alcohol just lurking in the background. Excellent beer.

Demens (424) - Budapest, HUNGARY - FEB 17, 2017
0,33l bottle. Very thich dark colour with long lasting beige head. Aroma: Very soft and gentle roasted coffee with dark chocolate and vanilla notes. With some time also some matured chedar come in. Taste: Very sweet, rich malty start and you can feel all the roasted malts in the tone. Than a roasty pleasnt bitter mouthfeel comes. Chocolate mousse, nuts, lots of rosted flavours. Very-very tasty a dessert by itself. The alcohol is very well hidden it’s soft and smooth as heaven. Full body with soft carbonation. Long lasting pleasent, medium bitter (and roasty) finish. The most elegant and smooth imperial stout that I ever tasted.

Bottle. It pours very dark brown with a creamy beige head. Sweet roasted aroma with notes of chocolate, light coffee and a whiff of smoke. The flavor is roasted with significantly more smoked notes. Bitter roasted with chocolate and light tar. Great stuff.

Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour are intense with heavily roasted, slightly smokey dark malts. Bittersweet and with lots of chocolate notes. Rich and full flavoured.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark copper brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of roast and coffee, with notes of fruit, malt and yeast and touches of cinnamon. Bitter, hoppy and roasty flavour wit notes of fruit and cinnamon and touches of coffee. Hints of spice. Roasty and estery aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Good.
