Bottle at Bruce’s, London. One of my additions. Pours clear, light red-brown with a lasting, frothy tan head. Dry toasty bread and leaves in the nose. Light sweet flavor, dry bread, leafy bitterness, some dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dirty earthy bitterness to finish, toasty bread, leaves, very subtle hints of cocoa. Pretty solid bitter. Tjoxen (173) - SWEDEN - MAR 15, 2013

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pour reddish-copper with nice head that settles into a thin veil over the beer. Completely clear, it’s a beautiful beer to look at. The aroma is spicy and peppery, with some fruity scents - it very much resembles Fuller’s beers, like London Pride, and I suspect Dugge’s have been using their yeast for this beer. The taste continues the spicy theme, also reminding of Fuller’s, but the hop bitterness pushes through and leaves a dry bitter aftertaste, which I think pulls down the grade. The condition of the beer is lively and mouthfeel is medium. Overall, a very nice beer and not at all watery considering the low alcohol level, but the bitterness is too intrusive and the beer would be more tasty if it left more malt sweetness and caramel behind in the aftertaste. Small head. Reddish Brown. Low carbonation. No excess of hops, refreshing after too many IPAs. Bread, pine, dried fruit, semi sweet, very balanced. This is a very British bitter, nice and comfortable. full of flavor and flavorenhancing qualities. larsniclas (7144) - Billdal, SWEDEN - MAR 15, 2013
