Aggressive pour gives me a black beer with a beige two finger head. Aroma of pine and roasted malt with a fruity touch. Tastes as it smells. Smooth, bitter and a little dry. I like this beer.

Jonte (1413) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2013
Bottle. Almost black colour with a beige head. Fruity, spicy hops. Lightly roasted with notes of salmiak, licorice and coffee. Bitter, but still with some balance. Not my favorite style, but still good.

PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2013
Bottle at home, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, small stable beige head. NOSE: hoppy, faint chocolate, some coffee. TASTE: coffee, bitter, hoppy, some chocolate. Very nice Black IPA! Even though I’m not a fan of this type of beer!

olsvammel (7241) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 11, 2013
Bottle from Systembolaget. Very malty smell with chocolate and coffee, some hops in the background, pine and citrus I think. The malt is dominant in the taste as well, fairly bitter finnish mostly coffee bitter but also some from the hops. A malt dominant BIPA, like a hoppy stout. I prefer my BIPAs when they give more room to the hops, at least 50/50 but preferably that the hops is dominant and the dark malts are there to give it an extra dimension. This one isn’t doing that, but still a nice beer and definitely drinkable.

Bottle from Systembolaget. (rating 3500) Black with a tan head. Aroma and taste of hops, grape, licorice, dark chocolate and some berries. The finish was bitter. Balanced and nicely drinkable, a solid Black IPA.

Aroma: Citrus, maybe coffee, also smells a bit like compost. Appearance: Pitch black, tan head. Taste: Citrus, Peach, Coffee, liqourice. A good bitterness that is nicely balanced by malts.

3.9
Hoppsan (151) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 8, 2013
33cl bottle. Pitch black, small head. Lots of roasted malts and some subtle stable/hay tone in aroma. Sweet, yet beautifully balanced against distinct hops in flavor. Small body but long nice bittersweet after taste. Nicely done! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
