Bottled at RBESG 2007. A brown beer with a red shine and no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malty and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of soy sauce, caramel, coffee, cinnamon, wood, and alcohol. The body is strong, and the alcohol burns in the throat. omhper (25346) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 31, 2007
Bottled at RBESG ’07. Dark brown, no head. Aroma of cocoa liqueur. Sweet and very potent. Concentrated flavour of cocoa powder, red berries and brandy. Full bodied is an understatement, it’äs massive. Still a bit young, so it’s rather sugary. A hugely warming beer with loads of character. cgarvieuk (25222) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 25, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2007 Bottle at RBESG 07 ... Deep Black ... Nice deep fruityness with a little meatyness in nose ... zingy fruity mouth feel ... Lovely juicy ... very sweet ... good balance. rich and complex. The 1/2 Idjit was nice but im definitly a full Idjit. I do hope this is at Stockholm beer festival I truly think this beer deserves a second examiniation. harrisoni (18954) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2007
Bottle at RBESG 2007. Cheesy aroma. Hot alcohol. Too full on. Juicy but for me just too sweet. rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2007
(RBESG 2007, Glasgow. Bottle) Blac color, almost no head. Malty, milky vanilla aroma, chocolate and rather roasted. Malty, milky, creamy and vinous flavor, oily as hell. Maybe a bit too sweet. Strong oily, malty finish. Alcohol is there but is still very well hidden.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2007) Dark brown colour with hints of black and ruby. Brief brown head. Full, malty nose with roasted coffee, wood, dried fruit and prunes. Vinous. Full, malty taste with chocolate, dried fruit, vanilla and loads of coffee in the finish. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel, almost cloying (just to say "full bodied" doesn’t seem to suffice). Obviously very sweet, actually too sweet for me. It’s a nice beer now, but give it a couple of years and it might be stunning. Sigmund (7754) - Tau, NORWAY - SEP 3, 2007
Bottle, RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Dark brown colour. Extremely woody aroma, seems a bit unbalanced. The flavour is also very woody with coffee notes, alcoholic. No match for Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 9, 2012
bottled, at rbesg07 grand tasting. very dark shade of brown with next to no head; aroma for me was full of run’n’raisin ice cream; extremely sweet with a lacquered wood touch, plenty of vanilla, port, more and more sultanas and a hint of nutmeg. quite drinkable for such a high abv larsniclas (7144) - Billdal, SWEDEN - OCT 27, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 31, 2008 Sampled at SBWF, 2007.
Hazy dark brown. Beige/brown head.
Extremely full-bodied. Vinous with raisins, chocolate, coffee.... Very sweet and almost oily. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2007
A Mes rate:
Bottle at RBESG. Pretty much exactly as its little half brother but with some extreme knobs on. The extra alcohol is the only thing that stands out compared between the two and for me it tips it just a little too far into the extreme. Excellent beer all the same.
