Pours a two finger khaki head that vanishes leaving no lace. Black color no highlights. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Licorice nose and flavor is smoky malt and licorice. High ABV is hidden. Seriously expensive at $16.95 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2015
Und dann sind diese ganzen Imperialen doch gleich. Röstung, Malz, etwas Kaffee, ein bisschen Nuss und neben ordentlich Perlung auch eine ausgeprägte Bitterkeit. Eigentlich mag ich so was null. Aber dennoch ist das hier ein feines Piwo. McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2015
Bottle from Siranselm - many thanks, Marcus! The beer has got a deep black colour with a steady low head and medium body. Aroma of malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste of dark chocolate, malt, roasted hops, coffee, dark plums, ripe dark fruits, barley and wine. Smooth and easy to dirnk, good beer.

330 ml bottle. Unclear dark brown body with a bid, dense beige head. Really nice aroma of chocolate, dark malt, some coffee and fruity hops. Flavor is sweet, smooth, roasted malt, dark chocolate, some coffee, dry fruit and good bitterness. Fine body and good aftertaste. Smooth, rich flavored and high drinkability. Alcohol is well hidden. Bottle at home, bought from RealAle twickenham, drank 17th April 15. Poured wierdly, glutinous and lumpy, however seemed to settle down in the glass. Aroma is ash, smoke, tar, slight rubber, synthetic leather. Taste is full on malts, burnt wood, ash, tobacco, hops in the background, leaving a bitter finish. Dryer than many imperial stouts and well balanced. Mouth feel is very thick for the low ABV. Excellent MisoW (3582) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 12, 2015
Bottle at home, from _angst_, many thanks for this one. Pours dark brown color, dark beige small head. Aroma of coffee, licqourice, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is sweet, lightly bitter, coffee, licqourice, wood, sherry, raisins, really full-body beer. The_Osprey (8010) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2015
330ml bottle, BB Mar 2015, 9.5%. Thinnish dark brown pour to form a black beer with a little ring of head. Aroma is oil, smoke, muddy wellies. Body is medium, a little foamy, low carbonation. Taste is dense fruit cake malts, blackberry jam, nice strong hop, ashy finish with some salt. Touches of coffee and flowers. Very drinkable and balanced. Excellent.
