Keg at CBC Clerkenwell, 2nd B’Day Festivities. It pours a deep dark brown color with a small white head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate and some vanilla notes. Huge flavour of dark chocolate and coffee, along with hints of booze. Very good. Hansen (8612) - Assentoft, DENMARK - SEP 21, 2013
Dark brown colouerd and hazy. Unpleasent sediment, slime-like. Besides this its a great beer, roasted with faint medicine notes. Light soy-sauce too. Creamy, soft. Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 17, 2013
0.33l bottle. A deep dark brown pour with a nice medium sized latte-brown head. The nose is lovely vanilla infused with lots of roastiness, a fresh amount of fruity green hops, it has some dark coffee tones and it feels really roasted and perhaps also a little burned in general. Nice stuff. It has a thick almost chewy mouthfeel this and the carbonation is below average and almost prickling. Nice dark flavors. Much more chocolate oriented in the taste. Enjoying the rich flavor here, it’s almost creamy in a way. Lots of roasted malts, the vanilla is also found in the taste and it’s not noticeable to notice the hardly noticeable alcohol.(yeah) It has a almost bitter burned roastiness that I actually think is suiting this quite well. That dark roasted flavor lingers in the aftertaste. A fine one. 07.06.2013 tfredvik (2027) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 3, 2013
Black body with a small, frothy, short-lived, medium brown head that reduces to a partially covering film and some traces of foam on the glass. Very strong aroma with heavily roasted notes, dark caramel, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, alcohol and in the back some herbal notes of cough syrup. Moderate sweet and moderate bitter taste. The flavours are a bit too dominated by (clean) notes of alcohol, but the burnt malty notes and the coffee are also very obvious. Pleasant mouthfeel, although a bit sharp due to the alcohol. Full body, oily texture, very soft carbonation. A nice beer, but not among my favourite imp stouts.

[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 17 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
Smallish brown head. Barely translucent deep dark brown body.
Earthy roasty dusty chocolatey aroma with rye crisp bread notes.
Sweetish roasty dusty chocolatey taste with minty strawy notes.
Full-bodied. Sharpish, slightly hot, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish
buttery roasty chocolatey aftertaste with earthy coffee grounds
notes. Nice, drinkable, interesting, harmonic. (0.33l bottle,

Pours a dark cola color with a small deep tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, prunes, molasses & heavy roasted malts. Taste is every aspect of dark chocolate you can imagine, mildly sweetened with molasses. The beginning is silky malty chocolate going to a moderately bitter mid palate. The finish comes easy and smooth with a slightly milder chocolate flavor. Honestly one of the more impressive stouts I’ve had and very well balanced.
Draught. Black with a brown tint. Dense, creamy tan head. Sweet aroma with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, licorice and dark, dried fruits. A vinous note. Taste is sweet. Excellent aroma and flavor. Full body with a thick feel and a soft carbonation. Long lasting dry, roasted finish with coffee, licorice, vanilla and coconuts. Simply an excellent stout!
