Pours a very cloudy amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet. I get lots of caramel and apple right away, followed by grapefruit, lemon, peach, and a bit of alcohol. The taste is heavier on the malt. Caramel comes out most here, but there is some balance with grapefruit and apple. But the caramel malt really dominates. Citrus and fruity aftertaste is subtle, but it does last a long time. The texture isn’t nearly as heavy as you would think, and I would actually lean towards being more light. Carbonation seems more flat. The alcohol content is noticed quickly here. This is a very unusual beer for this style. I enjoyed it. However, I got a little tired of the maltiness the more I drank it. I would have enjoyed it more if it was a more traditional IPA/Double IPA.
Bottle from Bridgend Services, Freuchie. Pours pretty clear. Dark amber. Slightly reddish hue. Not much head. Off-white. Piney hops. Very resinous. Light tropical fruits. Jelly candy. Dried mango. Caramelised orange. Not as much character as I hoped it would have. Taste is bittersweet at first. Lots of caramel sweetness but the bitterness builds quickly and is very astringent as it fully sets in. Tongue lashing pithy dryness. Really assertive. Slightly metallic towards the finish. Dry and bitter as it plays out. Decent weighty mouthfeel. Lightish carbonation. Extra large DIPA that needs more juice and fruit in the tasting to work with that bitter bite. Bit harsh. Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours just-clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of orange peel, sweet malt, wood shavings. Taste is quite sticky, more orange and toffee. Maybe papaya. Keg at FOB. It pours a clean golden color with a medium off white head. Aroma is medium sweet sticky malty with kitesnof resin caramel and melon. From the tap at FOB, in Rimini, Italy. Pours brilliant amber with limited foam, white, sticky. Aroma is part citrus (orange), slightly herbaceous, and some honey when warmer. Body is dense, with some stickiness. Taste is moderately sweet, but with a more marked bitterness (not excessive). Finish is long enough, with bitterness, although the terrain feeling from the hops is not very pleasant in the mouth.

Bottle at home (bb 27-09-2017). Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of pine, floral hops, resin, citrus, sweet malts.
