COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Thanks to blomster my Secret Santa for this one! Pours very dark brown with a beautiful red garnet color where the light can get through. Tall tan head. Red nosed reindeer on the bottle for the Christmas season. Sweet nutty aroma, some cocoa powder. The flavor is sweet on the front with a roast malt bitterness that comes in next. Some dry chalkiness in the finish.

500 ml bottle. Raisin, fig, overall sweetness in a dark ale. Not heavy like a porter but very much a winter seasonal with spices. Nice.

Bottle @ Home, courtesy of Aaron, Thanks. Pours very dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits, redwine, wood. Flavor is malt, caramel, dark fruits, spices, licorice, woodnotes. Thin body, flat carbonation. Way to thin for the style imo. 110712

Bottle @ Renes house, courtesy of a generous Swedish trader. Deep reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Spicy, spruce, ginger, anise, dark chocolate, somewhat boozy nose. Thin, dark berry, wood, ginger, minty, dark chocolate flavor. Seemed a bit flat to me. Ok.

Roasted herrby light roasted barley light coffee aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body, watery texture.

Bottle at lfestival 2011. A clear, dark chestnut colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Roasted nose with dried fruits, raisins mostly, and coffee notes. Dried fruits, caramel, coffee-like roastyness and a decent fruity hoppyness. Medium to full body, quite dry. The finish is long and dry, with caramel and dried fruits. Not really sure about this one, its a quite nice beer, but considering its a winter beer, or even worse, if its supposed to be a Christmas beer, the name suggests the latter, its not complex and tasteful enough. Ok, so its tasteful and it washes down easily, but its not a Christmasy beer in my book. Still, I like it. 110527
