Bottle from Systembolaget. It poured a pitch black liquid with a medium sized light brown head. Sweet smell with a waft of milk chocolate. Taste of chocolate, toast, biscuits, malts and a hint of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with a thick and creamy body. Nice and malty beer that should work great with food.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2011 Bottle. Hazy dark brown/red with an off-white head. Quite a big aroma with chocolate, fruit and roasted malts. Taste: chocolate, licorice, berries, some knck, rather sweet, and it also has an acidity to it. A bit above medium-bodied with a somewhat fizzy mouthfeel. I remember it as even better on draught last year, but still definitely one of my favourite Christmas beers this year.

12/17/10. Bottle shared by fata2683 - thanks, Keith! A surprise here... I really enjoyed this brew! Nice smooth coffee and chocolate aroma with a big coffee flavor that fades into sweet milk chocolate. Quite nice!

Dark clear red brownish leathery colour with a beige head. Aroma has lots of dark fruit, raisins, plum, dark winegums, some alcohol. Taste is medium sweet with a strong malty character that contains dark fruits, coffee, some chocolate, maybe a hint of liquorice. A bit warming alcohol in the end and I also detect something like marzipan in the, quite long, aftertaste. It has quite a wine character. Its pretty well made I guess, but its just not my thing.
