Dark mahogany color; medium head, reducing quickly. The light aroma shows some Belgian yeast and a sweet candy-like touch. Good mouthfeel, good caramel flavor with some residual sweetness, complemented by the Dugges yeast, a light fruity touch and a very light roasted malt trace. Dynamic, quite complex, fully enjoyable. Bottle, 50 cl - A clear amber colored beer with a nice creamy head. Aroma is very fruity, hints of caramel, cherries, dried fruits and spices. Flavor is very fruity, some alcohol and licorice. Very interesting beer, not at all like most other belgian types of beers. Pretty bitter in that sense. Quite enjoyable! madsberg (11776) - Søborg, DENMARK - JUN 28, 2008
Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Sweetness, ripe fruits, caramel and spices in the aroma. Flavour is sweet and a bit yeasty. Prunes, herbs, alcohol and spices notable. Medium bodied. Dry. Sweet and alcoholdense end with a light touch of bitterness. Nice.

after a nightmarish day at work!
Appearance: Dark red/brownish with a small beige head looks very creamy.
Aroma: Cherries, Citric notes, Licorice, Hops. Quite lovely.
Flavor: Caramel, Yeast, Sugar, Aniseed, Fruit, Spices.
Palate: Quite dry and bitter with a nice complexity with lots of hops in the end.
A belgian-style ale that has been dry-hopped with amarillo and simcoe seems to be a winning concept. If you are lucky enough to find this somewhere, get it. Recommended

2008. Dark reddish/brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, candy sugar, caramel and a hint of warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet, slightly roasted malt, fruity, brown sugar, some alcohol and a fine moderate bitterness makes this feeling a bit dryer than a typical Belgian dubbel. Very nice and dangerously easy drinkable. Well done Dugges!
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2008 Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Clear reddish brown with rich creamy head. Aroma of cherries, licorice and grass. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Dextrose and alcohol dominates, but there’s also fruity black currant, licorice, aniseed and grain. Salty with surprisingly bitter finish. An American style Belgian style ale, complicated rather than complex.
