2008. Dark reddish/brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, candy sugar, caramel and a hint of warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet, slightly roasted malt, fruity, brown sugar, some alcohol and a fine moderate bitterness makes this feeling a bit dryer than a typical Belgian dubbel. Very nice and dangerously easy drinkable. Well done Dugges!

(Draught at the brewery)
Clear copper color, thick lasting tan head. Sweet and spicy scent. Strong spicy and smokey taste. Thick mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Sweet and spicy aftertaste.
(At a blidn tasting)
Shady copper color, creamy tan head. Phenolic, sweet, hoppy, cheeze scent. Also citrus, acidic. Phenolic, dry wood, roasted, coffee, hoppy, cheese taste. Smooth mouthfeel. Coffee aftertaste. Low bitterness.
Bottle, 9.8%. OK hoppy aroma, grassy with some sweet spices. Powerful flavour, sweet maltiness, some malt syrup. Roasted, vinous aftertaste. Quite strong alcohol note, very peppery, but at the same time balanced by the maltiness. Also a little aroma hops in the aftertaste. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2008
Bottle at RBESG08 Grand Tasting. Alround rating: Its a very good imperial ipa with the belgian twist, very citrusy with caramalt. Good stuff indeed. Ljunkan (530) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - SEP 13, 2008
UPDATED: APR 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a nice white head which fades away after a while, looks very inviting. Aroma is vinous and malty with toffee, dried plums and raisins. Flavour is also vinous and malty with notes of toffee, plums and raisins. Quite sweet with a small bitterness which has faded away after aging though (I remember it too be a bit bigger). Very smooth mouthfeel and fullbodied on the palate. Really good stuff actually, certainly one of the better Swedish beers. Go Dugges!

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Beatiful deep copper with a stable creamy beige head. Fruity malt aroma with some burnt notes, and spicy hops. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Quite dry. An interesting and slightly odd strong belgian. I would have preferred it to be more fruity and less dry and without the burnt notes. Furseth (2165) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - JAN 13, 2008

Blind at Dugges 080329. Hazy red with plenty of light tan head. Very hoppy aroma, with citrus. Malty and hoppy taste, sweet. Low bitterness. (official winner of this blind tasting event!) Veer (362) - Landskrona, SWEDEN - JUL 14, 2008
Aroma: hohoho... wonderful, zesty, pine, chocolate, nutty, dried pineapple, much more American than Belgian profile. Molasses / dark syrup.Linnet (1873) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2008
Flavour: wow, sourish, very sourish, musty, very malty, dried cranberries & figs. Slightly of tarragon or chervil & liquorice. Wormwood?
Palate: very smooth, fluffy.
Appearance: slightly foggy deep red copper with yellowish & irregular but fine foam.
This beer is very sweet and tastes of dark fruit, plums, raisins. It is very warming due to the alcohol. A very good beer, but my expectations were higher than this beer delivered.
