COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duits & Lauret Stout is a very complex, dark and full-bodied beer. A beer to really take your time for in order to enjoy and experience its rich and complex flavour. An aroma of coffee and dark chocolate can easily be discerned. Roasted accents and a slight bitterness are typical of this beer. The stout combines wonderfully well with oysters or spicy dishes, and certainly with desserts in which chocolate or dried fruits have been used as ingredients.

Bottle, 330 ml at home, poured into a big snifter. ABV 6.5% Black in colour, with one finger of brown head sitting on top, with good thick density and good retention as well. Light lacing remains after the head collapses and after every swirl of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts. Taste is light milky chocolate, roasted malts. Slighty sweet and boringat first but at some point more roasted malts are kicking in, along with hints of coffee and a mild bitterness with good duration, which admitedly make it more interesting. Body is very thin for a stout and the most disappointing about this beer. Good carbonation though and nice feeling on the palate. Overall an okay stout, decent except for the body.

Taste is dry dark malty, hints of dark chocolate, dry, minimally grassy hoppy overtones, a dry touch of fruit parings. Relatively light and almost a bit watery.
