COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duits & Lauret Stout is a very complex, dark and full-bodied beer. A beer to really take your time for in order to enjoy and experience its rich and complex flavour. An aroma of coffee and dark chocolate can easily be discerned. Roasted accents and a slight bitterness are typical of this beer. The stout combines wonderfully well with oysters or spicy dishes, and certainly with desserts in which chocolate or dried fruits have been used as ingredients.

[email protected] Chocolate and blackcurrant aroma. Black, light brown head, good lace. Light sweet, light bitter, chocolate, hints of coffee and blackcurrant. Not too flavourful but well balanced and easy. More Belgian than English.

Draft. Nice dark brown to black color with a tanned two finger head. Aroma of coffee, caramel and molasses. Flavor is sweet with milky chocolate notes and a roast backbone. Very decent.

Great stout. Easy, classic, but aromatic: chocolate, coffee, liquorice. Very good.

Clear very dark brown to black beer, creamy beige head, unstable, pretty adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate, mocha, somewhat metallic, sweet caramelly touch. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel, mocha, bit metallic, lots of dark chocolate, some coffee. Aftertaste: chocolate, bit metallic, mocha, pretty dry hoppy ending.

Bottle. Black pour, tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and some ash. Flavor is dry, roasted bitterness. Decent body but a bit one-dimensional. More like a porter.

Good but compared with other stouts a little flat and boring. Theres no intense flavour and the aftertaste goes away in a flash. Mediocre/good.

On draught in Cefe Derat, Utrecht. Fairly chocolatey standard stout, but an overly burnt taste, although not exactly up to Rauchbier standards, downgrades the experience for me. Got the impression the malt was too roasted for my palate.

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer Tasting, London. Cheers Bruce for bringing this one along! Pours black-brown with a lovely, creamy beige head. Cocoa, roast, light lacto sweetness and dark bread in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with subtle roast, burnt bread, cocoa and some ash. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Semi-sweet finish with charcoal, some cocoa and burnt earth bitterness. Very decent beer.
