Description: "Our Duke Pale Ale boasts a deep amber colour and a fragrant bouquet. It is a medium bodied beer with masterfully balanced hoppiness. It is a flavourful, naturally cloudy beer with a complex, fruity character - citrus, grapefruit and lychee with a hint of vanilla and spice. All that flavour and yet brewed from only malted barley, water, hops and yeast! Duke Pale Ale is easy to drink. Leave the car at home because we doubt youll be able to stop at just one."

Citrus fruit aroma. Clear golden colour with excellent head. Dominated by fruity hop flavours and minimal malt profile. Medium body and carbonation.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/8/2010. Pours golden with no hint of the cloudiness mentioned in the description above. Has a nice, quite powerful floral, fruity hop aroma. The taste is dominated by a long, peppery, almost sour hop finish which overpowers the sweet citrus fruit flavours in the background. This is a quite distinctive drop, but it lacks balance and is a little too harsh to be really enjoyable.

Draught at The Local Taphouse (Sydney). Unfortunately the most disappointing. A hazy amber with a large white head. A strong malty palate, dominates the balance. Butterscotch at the back of the mouth and the finish is minerally.

Bottle from Dan Murphys (expiry 7/10). A hazy orangey yellow ale with a medium short lasting off white head providing fair lacing. Hoppy aromas with citrus oranges predominating and a faint hint of vanilla. The body is medium with a soft carbonation and a nice peppery dry hop bitterness to the finish. A decent sessionable locally produced APA.

Readily available here in queensland. Not really an APA. If it is its a half hearted attempt. Light hopping make this a sunday afternoon beer, but not really worthy of repeat custom.

Bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. The aroma is quite nice of sweet malt and fruity hop notes which are pleasant to the nose. The flavour is sweet malt and citrus. Soft carbonation. Light bitterness with a peppery finish. Its subtle in its ways but overall its an OK pale ale.

330ml bottle. Clean and clear with a thin wispy head of tiny bubbles. Amber in colour with a mild aroma, almost bland with a little bitterness and a hint of sweetness in the flavour. Light in the mouth.

Getting to be be my regular pale ale now. Not a spectacular beer but instead a very solid performer. Nice citrus aroma, solid bitterness and good malt body. Very glad to see a well made QLD pale ale with good distribution.

On tap: Good solid preformer this APA. Pours a hazy gold with a decent head, good tropical fruit aromas with reasonable carbonation. Complex fruity flavour with-out being OTT, bitter finsih. I had a bit of session on this - good.
