Cask (gravity dispense) at Nottingham Beer festival, Day 3 on 10 October 2014. Another pale gold beer which I tasted alongside A Ray Of Sunshine from the same brewery, to which it seemed rather similar. Or perhaps my palate was just getting rather jaded due to the large number of golden ales I’d ploughed through at the festival. This was perhaps a little more zesty. But, all in all (in this setting at least), it was tough to see it as any more than another middle of the road golden ale. Probably better suited to quaffing than pontificating.

citrus, golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, average carbonation, quite a big citrus finish to this which makes it really refreshing

Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Light smooth malt, semi dry. Whisper of sulphur yeast, barely there. Orange peel hops, light in presence but medium bitter. Light finish with a medium bitter linger. Okay.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Golden with a white thin foam. Aromas are biscuit and lager like grain with mellow lemon and grapefruit. Hints of mango with dusty yeast and light sulphur. Flavours are sweet grain with bittersweet lemon and a lightly pithy grapefruit bitterness. Not bad.
