Tap @ brewery in Prague. Hazy dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty nutty, espresso, toffee, dark chocolate aroma. Very nice! Fairly sweet, dark toffee, brown sugar, nutty flavor. Tasty stuff though if I had to nit pick, it was a bit thin. brugmanneke (283) - GERMANY - JUN 23, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 (on tap) Dark brown, slightly hazy, creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted and toasted malts, and a lot of caramel. Much less dark bread-aroma than last time I tried it. Lightly bitter, very little sweetness. Low to medium carbonation. light body, short aftertaste. Overall good and drinkable, but not very exciting or complex. Draft at Pivovarský Dum, summer 2011. The pour yields a very dark mahogany brown body with a thick, billowing head of khaki head froth. The dense foam is lasting, leaving behind pronounced, solid walls of lacing. Aromas are very chocolaty and bread, suggesting strongly of mocha, coffee, and wonderfully caramelized sugars. Dark, mildly sweet bread dough (think pumpernickel) is prominent, while roast lends an edge that rounds out the malty sugars. It smells very inviting, and the flavor follows through nicely. It tastes super chocolaty, almost like a creamy porter with less roast and more rounded sugars. Caramelized pumpernickel dough and toasted crust all ring through. Perfect balance. The palate is smooth, almost silken as is glides down the throat with ease. Damn good beer. This is probably the best dunked I’ve had to date. heavy (2817) - Split, CROATIA - DEC 6, 2011
18/11 Sampled at the brewpub. It poured hazy dark reddish-brown body with medium sized beige head. Sourish, quite hoppy aroma, over caramel based malt. Mostly roasted malt, coffee, burnt bread, touch of caramel and toffee. Medium body with slightly longer, coffee and herbal hop dryer finish. More schwarzbier than a dunkel, it was nice, though some strange note, probably hops, all the way through it was quite disturbing me. Pleasant one anyway.

Hand bottle from the brewpub. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel and chocolate aroma. Tap at Pivovarsky Dum. Cola color and creamy head with good lacing. Subtle caramel malt aroma. Flavor is a delightfully calm chocolate, caramel, and smoke profile that lingers nicely. Luscious smooth palate. Quite nice.
