For thousands of years, fall has been a time of plenty ~ plenty of food and plenty of good brew, carefully crafted in anticipation of one heck of a party. If summer is exercise, bikini diets, and baking in the sun; fall is recliner Sundays, cheese in a can, and basking in the glow of a robust, flavorful brew like Dundee Oktoberfest. So in the fall, be full-bodied. After all, as much as we love bikinis, there is a lot to be said for cheerleader sweaters. 15°

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is slightly spicey/hoppy. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor starts with sweet caramel. There is some spice and/or hop, and it does tend to wash out the sugar. I’d drink it over most any macro product.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 5, 2010
12oz bottle. Medium beige head atop crystal clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, orange, light earthy/spicy. Taste is moderately sweet, orange/spicy/earthy, some caramel/bread. Light-medium body, some effervescence.

12 oz brown bottle. It pours a deep reddish/orange amber. The head is fluffy and white. The smell is sweet, with some caramel, there is also some mineral water. This beer is sweet, but bitter, not bitter in a good way. Very basic. Not very good. The mouthfeel is exceptionally watery for the style. A crappy O-fest. Sample at 69 Taps in Akron. The beer is a mostly clear copper color with a thin off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing. Light earthy malt and caramel aroma. Thin body with a weak caramel malt flavor along with notes of toasted grain. Metallic touches as well. The finish is short and malty. Overall this Oktoberfest is more or less a joke compared to what else is out there.

On tap for growler fills at Half-Time. Pours a clear orange with a medium white head. Smells very sweet, with some faint honey and pear notes. Medium bodied, grainy and cloying. Finishes up with some more grain and a bit of acrid bitterness. Tough to drink, unpleasant.

"Not a great reintroduction to the style in 2012. I had the Pyramid first this year, and that one was nice. This wasn’t a bad beer, but too sweet and one dimensional. Didn’t do much for me. "

Bottle. Syrupy barley malt aroma. Amber color with large head. Sweet corn syrup barley malt flavor. Not horrible but not great.

hopscotch (11180) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 17, 2009
Bottle… Clear, dark amber lager with a small, quickly dissipating, off-white head. Decent retention. Nutty, toasty aroma with caramel coming to the forefront. Medium-bodied with kicked-back carbonation. Malty, caramely flavor with mineral bitterness providing decent balance. Subtle, bittersweet finish.

Tap at Genesee Brewhouse. Malty nose, caramel and grains. Very sweet caramel flavor, lighly roasted, light grain, some husks. Too sweet and simple.
