This was a nice porter. Very black and I liked that. Nice and malty, nice head. Good job. I will get this one again. Tilley4 (218) - Huron, Tennessee, USA - DEC 23, 2007
I actually liked this one a lot. I’m not a huge porter fan but this is one that I enjoyed.
Pitch, pitch black pour. Man, this thing is dark.
Smells sort of like a Hefe-Weizen. Lots of banana aromas to this which sort of threw me off and hurt the aroma scores a bit. I was expecting something darker and richer.
Very good taste. Dark chocolate, caramel, and roasted malts. Everything I expect in a porter.
Overall, a very good solid porter. I was impressed with this more than most people. puggy211 (712) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - DEC 22, 2007
big malty roasty nose, pours black with nice tan head.matly roasty coffey flavor, pleasently surprised by this one.good beer. graham515 (537) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 12, 2007
It was with much skepticism that I even bought this, but here we go. Pours a deep blackish brown into the glass with a small off white head. Aroma is actually pretty decent with some toasty coffee/toffee like flavors. The taste is pretty damn good for JW Dundee’s. In fact, I’m amazed. Still a little on the thin side when it comes to the palate. Overall, I’m extremely surprised that this is a good beer. Nihon (247) - Vernon, Connecticut, USA - DEC 9, 2007
Deep brown, thin head. Earthy, solid porter aroma, but a hint of penny/metallic smell. Acidic, sort of bitter, metallic flavor. Roasted malt, and coffee thrown in, medium bodied.

Pours really dark, thin head that disappears quick. No lacing. Smell is malty and kinda burned. Taste is also malty. Mouthfeel is crisp and dry. Good porter. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - SEP 21, 2007
12oz bottle, got from Curt who got it from his father in law. Nice aroma. Roasty, malty, hints of cream, and earthy hops. Color looks nearly black with red tints. One fingered, khaki, frothy head sits atop. Initial taste is sweet malt, milk chocolate, mild roast, and floral hops followed by some big roastiness, with a nearly burnt aspect to it, heavy cream, and floral hops. Nice mouthfeel. Pretty tasty! The lactose is maybe a little too forward, but I would not hesitate to take another one of these out of my buddy’s cooler at a KU tailgate. Odeed (1803) - Bakersfield, California, USA - SEP 4, 2007
(bottle from bbb63 i think)dark brown with no head.coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, and lactose make up the aroma.flavor does much of the same.pretty average porter. IndianaRed (4629) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 3, 2007
Bottle Pours a nearly opaque light brown. with a small light tan head.
Nice soft woody cohocolate aroma. Light roasted and leathery. Flavor is of light chocoalte and of wet brown paper bags. The kind that I used to take my lunch in in 3rd grade. Not totally unpleasant, but earthy and wood pulp. Light bittrerenss that is balanced, and easy to put down.

12oz Bottle pours out a almost black topped with a small tan head. A nice aroma of sweet, nuts, and roast malt. Tast of dark roast and sweet chocolate. Thanks Indiana_Red
