Pours almost black with nice tan head. Great coffee flavor all over the place nice vanilla touch to it, suppose to be the brown ale with coffee beans thrown in but this should be made instead of the brown ale, the coffee is just perfect it’s not overpowering but just the right amount, very creamy, very tasty, very good beer, I loved it. elmatador00 (519) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAR 25, 2007
Had it at a bar in Davis Island. Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Has a huge Coffee aroma and flavor. Hints of barley, roasted malts and some spices. Finishes like a cup of coffee. DragonStout (1416) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - MAR 23, 2007
Had this at the brewery.Huge coffee aroma.Black as night.Full onslaught of coffe and a hint of roasted malts. This was quite delicious. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Amazing smell of dark cherries, caramel sauce, and coffee. Color is translucent reddish brown. Flavor starts light, like a sweet calm Brown ale, then it explodes in dark fruit and coffee. Palate is dynamic. Nekronos (4174) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 21, 2013
Even better than the Stout. It had a nice coffee taste and aroma and vainlla touches. Quite thick and nice in shape.

Re-rate. New batch has cocoa nibs and a new type of coffee. Makes it feel fresher and finishes on a sweet chocolatey note that is much more appropriate to a brown ale then just coffee flavors. Very nice beer. Much improved. Looks better, head stay longer and the mouthfeel is slightly thicker. Dunedin’s best brew to date.

Aroma is coffee, coffee, coffee. Dark brown with a thumb thick tan head. Fore is coffee, middle...chocolate and coffee and the finish is esspresso and more coffee. This is the coffiest coffee beer you will ever have. It’s so one dimensional they should serve it poured flat onto a plate and not in a 3D pint.
Still if you like coffee it’s very hard not to enjoy drinking this. It seems thinnish because all that coffee invokes thick stouts laced with coffee, but it is a Brown Ale so it’s really about right for the style. I like coffee flavors so it was tasty to me though terribly simple. Ibrew2or3 (8743) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 18, 2006
On draft @ brewery. I was told this was their first big batch of this beer (7 barrels). Deep amber color with thin off white head. Wow, this beer smells like a cup of coffee. It is really just amazing. Almost like sticking your nose into a hand full of coffee grounds. I think behind the coffee aroma I can pick up roasted malts. The taste is full on coffee. I should be drinking this with eggs and bacon in the morning. Like the aroma I can just taste some roasted to burnt malts behind the coffee. Around the edges are some pine hop notes. Tasty beer full of coffee aroma and flavor. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 11, 2012
Pours dark black coffee in color with a big creamy sprinkly chocolate biege head. The aroma has notes of smoke, subtle coffee and sweet chocolate, light but pleasant. The body is silky smooth and creamy like skim chocolate milk on nitro at the brewery. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Pours a nice brown color with off-white head. Coffee, caramel malt, and roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more coffee flavors. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2014
This poured a murky brown with a beige head. Aroma was of coffee really and nothing else. Flavor was also just straight fresh coffee really no underlying beer at all. A coffee lovers dteam
